Commonwealth Championships - Top Seeds Progress
Singapore, the top seeds, recorded a three-nil victory in their last match to appear top in their groups respectively. 

The Men's Team continue to dominate matters in the group stage against Malta. They will only be commencing their 2nd stage of competition today.

On the other hand, our Women's Team was represented by a relatively young paddlers. Due to the advantage our female paddlers have against their opponents, Guernsey, the coach has decided to give the youths more chance to perform. The team, led by World No. 32 Yu Meng Yu, is further supported by local-born Sim Kai Xin Zena and Li Siyun Isabelle. Yu Meng Yu's fast attacking skills proved to be the key of her win. She beat Morgan in 3 straight games, 9-11,5-11,5-11. The defensive skills of Zena Sim and Isabelle Li has also caused their opponents much troubles. Zena and Isabelle crashed their opponents 1-11,6-11,2-11 and 2-11,5-11,1-11 respectively.

In the 2nd stage, our female team recorded a three-one victory over Canada with the one success for the latter coming from Zhang Mo; she beat Yu Meng Yu in five games (11-6,11-6,8-11,6-11,7-11) but wins for Wang Yue Gu over Sarah Yuen (11-6,11-2,11-3) and Zhang Mo (11-7,11-8,11-6) plus success for Sun Bei Bei over Yulia Degtiar (11-4,12-10,11-5) secured victory for the top seeds. They will be facing Wales and India later today.
