ASIAN Cup - Feng Tianwei face Strong Competition from other Asia Adversaries
The 60,000 U.S. dollars Asian Cup attracted 16 men's and as many women's players from eight Asian Teams. China, Japan and South Korea has sent a total of 3 men and 3 female paddlers for each events. However, Singapore is only represented by Feng Tianwei.

In the Men's Singles Draw, the newly crowned World Champion and World No. 1, China's Wang Hao, will be the Top Seed. He is drawn into group A together with Japan's talented Niwa Koki and another potential Chinese Taipei's player Chiang Hung-Chieh. Jeong Sang Eun from South Korea completes the group. Ma Long is the 2nd Seed and together with him in group B are Japan's Matsudaira Kenji, South Korea's Seo Hyun and DeokMohammadreza Akhlaghpasa. Group C contains 3rd Seed, Hong Kong's Jiang Tianyi, Japan's Kishikawa Seiya, Thailand's Sanguansin Phuchong and India's Soumyadeep Roy. Group D is another group which the winner of the group may not be obvious. Hong Kong's Tang Peng may be the 4th Seed, but he will face strong challenge from China's Zhang Jike, Chinese Taipei's Chen Chien-An and South Korea's Jung Young Sik.

In the Women's Singles Draw, Guo yue will head the list. Together with her in group A are Japan's Hirano Sayaka, South Korean Defender Park Young Sook and Thailand's Muangsuk Anisara. In group B, 2nd Seed Feng Tianwei will face competition from China's Ding Ning, Thailand's Nanthana Komwong and India's Kasturi Chakroborty. China's Liu Shiwen, the lady who recently rose to a high ranking of 7th, is the no. 3 seed. She is drawn into group C together with Hong Kong's Tie Yana, another player from the Top 10 World Ranking. South Korea's Kim Jung Hyun and Japan's Morizono Misaki are also in the same group. Lastly in group D, Hong Kong's Jiang Huajun, the 4th seed will be playing against Japan's Fukuhara Ai, Chinese Taipei's Cheng I-Ching and South Korea's Choi Moon Young.
