ITTF Pro Tour Chile Open - Little Singaporean Causualty in Opening Round
There were no upsets for our Singaporean paddlers, only success after success.

In the top half of the compeition, Top Seeded Li Jia Wei overcame Brazil’s Karin Sako in five games. Her collegues Feng Tianwei and Sun Bei Bei enjoyed the fruit of success as well. Feng defeated Brazil’s Claudia Ikeizumi and Sun proved too consistent for the backspin skills of Ana Badosa from Spain. Yu Meng Yu continued the good trend in the bottom half of the draw. She is the only Singaporean paddler in the bottom half. Yu had an easy win over Venezuela’s Ruaida Ezzeddine. She succeeded in straight games.

Gao Ning and Yang Zi did well in the opening match yesterday. But in today's Round of 32, Yang Zi suffered defeat. He lost to France's Mattenet Adrien by the faintest margin. Whist for Gao Ning, he crushed Belarus's Nekhvedovich Vitaly with a convincing 4-0 win.

Success in the Singles Event, there were more successes in the Doubles. Seeded 2, Li Jia Wei and Sun Bei Bei defeated the new pair made up of Yu Mei-Ju from Chinese Taipei and Badosa Anna from Spain in straight games. However, Yu Meng Yu and Feng Tian Wei suffered a 4-0 defeat. They lost to Netherlands' Li Jiao and Li Jie. Both originated from China as well.

Gao Ning and Yang Zi, the Top Seeded for the Men's Doubles crossed the Round of 16 hurdle by beating Brazil's Monteiro Thiago and Tsuboi Gustavo. They won 4-2.
