SEA Games - Yang Zi Recover in Time to Record Opening Round Success
As opposed to our Women's Paddlers, our Men's Team faced much resistance from their opponents. Singapore's trio - Gao Ning, Yang Zi and Cai Xiao Li fought hard to record a 3-1 victory against Philippines.

Gao Ning got the team to a great start after recording a straight games victory against Valle, Rodel. However, Yang Zi allowed the opponents to level the game at 1-1. His opponent Gonzales, Richard showed great fighting spirit, stretching Yang Zi to the full 5 games distance. The three sets that Yang lost were by very narrow margin of merely 2 points. Yang Zi faltered 8 : 11, 13 : 11, 6 : 11, 12 : 10, 11 : 9. Singapore got back the lead after Cai Xiao Li's brave performance. He defeated Ledesma, Ting 11-3, 11-3, 11-3. Yang Zi then redeemed himself in the 4th game by crashing Valle, Rodel in straight games.

The Men's Team will be facing Liu Guodong's Indonesia Team tomorrow morning.
