Commonwealth Youth Games - Pang Xue Jie Maintains ITTF Junior Circuit Form in Pune
The fast attacking left handed Pang Xue Jie excelled at the ITTF Junior Circuit event in the Chinese city of Taiyuan in September; he won the Cadet Boys' Singles crown with tirade of rapid fire attacking strokes.

One month later, in the table tennis events at the Commonwealth Youth Games, he has maintained that form in the Indian city of Pune. On Tuesday 14th October 2008 he booked his place in the second round of the Boys' Singles event in convincing fashion and with compatriot Darren Chong qualified for the main draw in the Boys' Doubles competition.

Straight Games Wins
In the Boys?Singles event he recorded a straight games victory over Jamaica's Don Petrinaud whilst partnering Darren Chong to success in the doubles.

The duo recorded wins over Papua New Guinea's William Stevens and Gasikla Simoi followed by success against the Australians Robbie Frank and David Powell to put themselves in a strong position the their group.

Tough opponents in the guise of the Australians overcome, the Singaporeans secured first place by beating Jamaica's Don Petinaud and Simon Tomlinson.
