Singapore Zena Sim and Isabelle Li dominated proceeding in the Girls' Team event at the Congo Brazzaville Junior Open on Friday 21st September 2007.They captured the title in fine style with comfortable three-nil victories being the order of the day on each occasion.The quality of their play shone through as they showed Asian excellence and gave a lesson in technical skills to the rapidly improving African nations. It was for the host continent a learning experience.



At the semi-final stage the Singaporeans beat South Africa. Isabelle Li defeated Alisha Van Rooyen, Zena Sim accounted for Khanysilie Madlala and together they combined to overcome Alisha Van Rooyen and Stephany Martin in the doubles.



A three-nil victory duly posted, the impressive Singapore pairing accounted for Congo Democratic `A?in the final with Zena Sim beating Flavia Kimbo and Isabelli Li accounting for Kamangu Maeva before overcoming Flavia Kimbo and Mongoli Dacha in the doubles.


It was a comfortable start for the number one seed. Zena Sim beat Cyntia Nzangani Kindandi in quick-fire style.Meanwhile, in similar vein there were victories for the third and fourth seeded players. Isabelle Li overcame Congo Democratic Theresa Lekaka and Marjan Safai proved too strong for the latter's compatriot Jolie Mafuta Ivoso.
