South East Asian Junior Table Tennis Championships - Gold for Clarence & Isabelle

Our youth paddlers pocketed another gold today, raising the total gold medal count to 3! Chew Zheyu Clarence and Isabelle Li Siyun defeated Thailand in the finals of the U18 Mixed Doubles Event to clinch gold. Along the way, they defeated players from Thailand and Vietnam with comfortable wins. In the finals, the attacking and defensive pair made a clean sweep, winning 11-4, 11-4, 11-7.

These youths continue their good performance in other events. In the Junior Boys' Singles Event, Tan Kiat Yi Kerry is in the finals where he will face Le Tien Dat from Vietnam. Singapore already won 2 bronze in this event as Clarence and Tay Jit Kiat were also among the Top 4.

In the Junior Girls' Event, Isabelle Li settled for Bronze after bowing out to Thailand's Rattanporn by the narrowest margin of 3-4.

Pang Xuejie/Clarence as well as Isabelle/Chau Haiqing are also in the finals of the Junior Boys' and Girls' Doubles Event. Yin Jing Yuan/Chau Jialiang Oscar are also in the finals of the Cadet Boys' Doubles Event. However, in the Cadet Boys' Singles Event, Yin Jing Yuan had to settle for Bronze after faltering against Vietnam's Ta Hung Khanh 1-4.
