Tournament of Champions - Singaporean Woes
3rd Seeds Feng Tianwei suffered early round defeats in the 2009 Tournament of Champions. Once again, the cause of the defeat was that her opponent is a defender. Feng Tianwei met her in the 2009 German Open earlier. At that time, she lost 4-0.

Today, it is still Pavlovich Viktoria that held the upper hand. Feng extends the Belarus lady to 5 sets, and 4 of the sets were forced to go beyond the 11 points. Feng lost 14-12,11-6,12-10,11-13,11-9.

Feng reveals that she needs to overcome this weakness as soon as possible to further improve her game.

Feng Tianwei and Wang Yuegu also suffered opening round defeats last year. Our best results in this competition has been 3rd placing: 2006 - Li Jiawei, 2007 - Wang Yuegu, 2008 - Li Jiawei.
