Volkswagen China VS World - Challenging the Chinese Champions
The Volkswagen 2009 China vs. World Team Challenge Match will take place in Shanghai on 8th and 9th June with the participation of the best players in the world and an overall prize money of 220.000 US dollars.

The event will be held in the Chinese port city of Shanghai, also host of the 2005 World Table Tennis Championships. On two evenings the spectators in Shanghai and TV viewers all over the country will see their men’s squad lined up with the World Number 1 to 3.

The Chinese women’s team will also consist of the top three ranked players in the world, led by Olympic and World Champion Zhang Yining. Therefore it will not be an easy task to challenge the teams from the People’s Republic.

The World All Stars, however, do not have to back down at all. A Eurasian combination shall bring the success and spectacular sport. Evergreen Vladimir Samsonov of Belarus represents the experience; Joo Se Hyuk and Kim Kyung Ah from Korea guarantee spectacular defensive style in the Men’s and Women’s Team challenge; Feng Tianwei, the best female player not representing the People’s Republic; Romania’s Daniela Dodean is one of the promising young generation and the only 17 years old Japanese Kenta Matsudaira was the only one to scare the Chinese at the recently held World Championships by stretching Olympic champion Ma Lin to a seven games thriller.

The total prize money of the team challenge matches is US$ 220.000; the winning team takes US$ 70.000, while the losing team will be compensated with US$ 40.000.
