ITTF Pro Tour Grand Finals - Success for Yu Meng Yu
The backhand of Yu Meng Yu proved the decisive factor in her contest against Troshneva Elena and Top Seed Dodean Daniela.

Against Troshneva Elena, it was the first attack of Yu Meng Yu from the backhand that helped her dominated matters time and again. It wasnt the power of the stroke, but was the heavy rotation she imparted on the ball. The variations created reaped dividends. She succeeded 11-6, 13-11, 12-10, 11-4.

Yu Meng Yu then maintained her unbeatened record against Dodean Daniela. The Roman Lady has a strong backhand too, but Yu tends to play with more topspin and that variation proved crucial. She proved to be the slightly safer player, the more consistent on the big points. She won 4-11, 13-11, 12-10, 9-11, 12-10, 11-8.

In the last match against Japan's Ishigaki Yuka, The stalwart defence of the Japanese star combined with her increasing ability to attack quickly won the day. Yu Meng Yu lost 11-9, 11-5, 11-4, 11-8.

Yu Meng Yu qualified for the Semi-Finals having achieved a 2nd position in Group A. She will meet Germany's Barthel Zhenqi tomorrow morning.

Ma Liang and Liu Zhong Ze, who participated in the U21 Boys' Event, failed to qualify for the Semi-Finals. They appear 3rd and 4th position in the group respectively.

Meanwhile in the Women's Doubles Event, Yu Meng Yu partnered Feng Tianwei to take on Korea's Kim Kyung Ah/Park Mi Young. Yu/Feng faltered against the defensive pair. They lost in straight games.
