女团外援新加坡双星闪耀 唐娜实力欠缺无力担副手
 北京奥运会中国乒乓球队的大获全胜，让乒协放心地放松了外援的政策，本年度乒超赛场上多了些“外援”。不过，活跃在乒超女子比赛上的外援选手，也都是“海外乒团”，而且还全部都是新加坡和中国香港队的绝对主力。
五名女子外援中，常规赛表现最为出色的非属李佳薇不可。虽然北大方正整体实力有限，但最后能够获得第六，作为头号主力的她发挥了应有的作用，尤其是在与冠军球队鲁能队的常规赛中，她一人连挑对方李楠和李晓霞两员大将，表现堪称惊艳。
冯天薇作为鲁能队二号单打选手，常规赛上场机会不多，表现也不能让人满意，但在最后决赛中，她两次击败对方外援唐娜，为本队夺冠贡献了自己的一份力量，同样功不可没。
反倒是唐娜的表现就真的让人有点失望了。整个乒超赛程，单打只有两场胜利，不但不能为球队建功立业，反而让队友承担了过多的压力，双打也没有太突出的作用，引进其可谓辽宁队本赛季一大败笔。笔者在此并无诋毁唐娜的意思，唐娜的斗志也是值得肯定的，但笔者只想说明唐娜的实力确实不足以挑起队中二号选手的重任。
中国香港队如今的头两号主力帖雅娜和姜华珺似乎受到她们的队友林菱的传染，延续了中国香港队选手在乒超联赛中的拙劣表现，几乎没有什么值得骄傲的胜利便结束了一个赛季的征程，让人对她们以及中国香港队今后的竞争力感到担忧。

冠军鲁能功臣评分 李晓霞接近完美谁是最弱一环
2008年中国乒乓球超级联赛结束了女团决赛的争夺，死里逃生的鲁能·潞安集团在第三回合生死战，直落三盘横扫横扫辽宁鞍钢，二度捧起了乒超关键奖杯。在主教练唐诚的带领下，李晓霞、彭陆洋、冯天薇以及李楠四位球员精诚合作，最终取得了一座来之不易的冠军奖杯，在这里结合整个赛季的表现，通过评分的方式来展现五个人对这座冠军奖杯的贡献。 李晓霞9分 鲁能最终夺冠，主将李晓霞无疑是最大的功臣，李晓霞延续了过去几个赛季在乒超的惊人胜率，新赛季19胜5负高居胜率榜榜首，在决赛第二回合力克辽宁主将郭跃，在球队首战主场沦陷的情况下，帮助球队大逆转。生死战首盘拼下郭跃，双打同碰彭陆洋惊天逆转对手，为球队最终赢得了冠军。 略微有些不足的是，李晓霞在第一阶段2、3轮，负于李佳薇和广东老将曹幸妮，导致全队士气受到影响，遭受重创。争冠赛首回合，李晓霞受到感冒影响，身体不在状态，单双打连丢两分，导致己队形势一度极为不利。球员遭遇低潮在所难免，综合来看，李晓霞起到了中流砥柱的作用，获得9分实至名归。 彭陆洋8分 鲁能在赛季初深陷低迷，队内实力派大将、全国赛冠军彭陆洋逃脱不了干系，但彭陆洋与李楠的双打还是保持了不俗的胜率，成为继李晓霞之外球队最有把握的得分点，在第三场决赛，彭陆洋同李晓霞在0-2落后的绝境下，上演惊天逆转，为球队锁定了冠军。彭陆洋在第2阶段单打比赛也有着极为出色的发挥，半决赛第二回合，横扫此前保持不败的华东理工副将饶静文，决赛第二回合，则险胜同样保持不败、五度在决胜盘为辽宁建功的常晨晨，为球队最终惊天逆转，奠定了基础。 冯天薇7分 被寄予厚望的新加坡强援冯天薇，整体上的表现与人们的期望有些不小的差距。在乒超赛场一直没有找到世界杯大胜郭跃的感觉，导致一度失去了第二单打位置，好在进入关键的第二阶段争夺，冯天薇及时找到了感觉，一度给郭焱和郭跃制造不小的麻烦，决赛两胜唐娜为鲁能贡献关键的两分。 李楠6分 老国手李楠在好手云集的鲁能没有获得太多上场机会，作为交流来的内援，还是起到了自己的作用，同彭陆洋的双打还是以7胜5负的战绩高居积分榜第4，然而在关键的决赛前两回合，李楠球拍两次没能通过检测，给球队几乎带来毁灭性的打击，第三场也未能获得出场机会。李楠整个赛季的表现，相较于其他几位还是有着一定的差距。 唐诚（主教练）8分 球队最终夺冠，鲁能主教练唐诚居功至伟，决赛第三回合，顶住压力果断变阵，球员们也不负众望成功夺冠。对彭陆洋的合理使用，也使得鲁能在前两回合溃败的情况下，保留住了冲击关键的希望，但结合整个赛季的表现看，这位豪门主帅还是有一些不足的之处，球队尽管好手云集，却在常规赛一度深陷泥潭，最终只是以第3的名次勉强进入第二阶段争夺战，但总体而言，唐诚还是非常出色地完成了任务。

张怡宁3-1再胜陈晴 北京横扫北大获女团第五名
 本赛季乒超联赛决赛阶段的争夺继续进行，在刚刚结束的女团5、6名争夺战中，张怡宁带领北京时博国际队3-0完胜同城对手北大方正队，以主、客场两战全胜的战绩夺得本赛季女团第五名。此役，张怡宁3-1战胜陈晴，丁宁单双打各取1分，两人再次成为北京时博国际获胜的关键人物。 李佳薇2-3丁宁 上轮比赛，丁宁在与新加坡“一姐”的对话中以3-2顽强取胜，她在今天继续着自己的不俗表现。首局比赛，丁宁率先发难，以11-5在还未找到状态的李佳薇身上先取1分。随后李佳薇作出调整，以相同比分扳回次局。第三局，李佳薇打出了信心，轻松以11-4胜出。但从第四局开始，不言放弃的丁宁逐渐掌握了场上节奏，分别以11-7和12-10获胜，力助北京时博国际先下一城。 陈晴1-3张怡宁 第二场，由“怪球手”陈晴对决上场横扫自己的张怡宁。尽管陈晴给张怡宁制造了不少的麻烦，但实力优势明显的后者仍以11-8赢下首局。第二局，张怡宁毫不手软，再以11-9拿下。陈晴在第三局频频发威，并以11-6扳回一分。第四局，张怡宁再没给对手留下任何反击的机会，11-3轻松获胜的她帮助客队扩大了领先优势。 陈晴/刘纯0-3丁宁/彭雪 双打比赛一开始便陷入僵持，比分交替上升，赛点也先后在双方手里轮换，丁宁/彭雪最终凭借稳定姆⒒右?7-15获胜，心理和实力均占优的她们再接再厉，并以11-8取得次局胜利。第三局，眼见大势已去的陈晴/刘纯反攻无力，丁宁/彭雪就势以11-5轻松取得全场比赛的胜利。

Tournament of Champions - Finalised Players
 The annual Tournament of Champions is around the corner again. This high standard competition invites all the Champions of the 4 major Table Tennis Tournament, namely the Olympic Champion, World Champion, World Cup Champion and Pro Tour Grand Finals Champion. However, a maximum of three players from the same association are allowed in either the Men’s or Women’s competition each year. Hence this year Pro Tour Grand Finals Champion Guo Yan will have to give it a miss. Replacing her will be Wang Yue Gu, as Wang is the Highest Ranked player besides Li Jiawei and Feng Tianwei and the third paddler to qualify for Singapore. In the male counterpart, South Korea's Ryu Seung Min gave up his nomination and is replaced by Taiwan's Chuang Chih Yuan. China's Ma Long and Chen Qi are unable to participate despite their World Ranking as China has reached the maximum quota in the Men's Singles Event as well.  继在今年北京奥运会上取得一面女团银牌之后，我国乒乓球女将们又在最近结束的国际乒联巡回大奖赛总决赛中取得佳绩，不只夺得女双冠军，而且女单复赛8强中还占了半数，虽然最后只有王越古与冯天薇杀进半决赛，而且只都在4强赛分别中输给中国选手，但是可以肯定的是，我国女队已经取代香港，成为给予中国女队最大威胁的队伍。 从本月初刚出炉的国际乒联最新世界排名中看来，前5名全部归中国选手所得，我国的冯天薇、李佳薇和王越古分别排在第6、第7和第8位，香港的帖雅娜和姜华珺则名列第9及第10。 虽然孙蓓蓓的单打排名只在第30位，可是她与李佳薇的双打却在总决赛中表现出色，以较佳的配合在决赛力挫韩国的削球组合——金璟娥与朴美英夺得冠军。 小将于梦雨则在总决赛的21岁以下女单决赛中获得亚军，虽然她目前的世界排名只在第41位，但是她的潜能不错，有望成为新加坡女队中的明日之星。 从我国目前的人员配备来看，老中青的搭配比较合理，球队的上升空间也还比较充足。李佳薇与王越古经验丰富，冯天薇在奥运会与最近的比赛中都证明自己已经跻身世界一流高手的行列中，成为中国的主要对手之一。 从目前世界女子乒乓球的整体格局来看，过去几年一直对中国威胁较大的香港和韩国队都受到年龄问题的影响，明显导致实力下滑。至于日本队，他们的几名小将都明显显得有些稚嫩，而且上升的空间也比较有限，预料对中国的威胁并不会太大。算来算去，反而是我国在今后一段时间内将成为中国队唯一的对手，对这个乒乓球王国构成一定的威胁。 (来源: 联合晚报)

ITTF Pro Tour Grand Finals - Top Seeds Justify Position!
 Our paddlers finished the season in style after lifting both the women's and men's doubles titles. It is the first time our paddlers struck gold in the competition since it began in 1996. Top-seeds Li Jiawei and Sun Beibei scorched South Koreans Kim Kyung Ah and Park Mi Young 4-1 in the women's final, before compatriots Gao Ning and Yang Zi gave cause for a double celebration. The top-seeds defeated Taiwan's Chuang Chih-yuan and Wu Chih-chi 4-2. For Li and Sun, their win yesterday was especially sweet as it was their first over their nemeses Kim and Park. Li and Sun took the first game 11-5. But the Koreans’ deadly defensive back spins caused our paddlers many problems in the second game, taking it 11-6. The Koreans were leading in the third game before Li and Sun rallied to take the game, 11-9. They closed out the finals matches 11-8, 11-4.  It was a slightly tougher affair for Gao Ning and Yang Zi. They marched through the first game, trampling over Chuang and Wu 11-2. But the Taiwanese pair came back strongly to take the next game 11-9. They took the lead in a hard-fought third game, winning 17-15, but they fell flat in the fourth game and could only watch Gao and Yang level the tie with a 11-1 victory. They then finished the remaining games 14-12 and 11-7 to take the final 4-2. Li and Gao said that the absence of the Chinese pairs should not take the gloss off their victories. Li mentioned that the Chinese players are definitely their main rivals, but it was not easy for them to win this title and that they had to play very well to do so. Gao added that those who qualified for this tournament are of a certain standard. They still had to go all out to win. |

ITTF Pro Tour Grand Finals - Wang Yuegu nails down Kim Kyung-Ah, Feng Tianwei prevailed against Liu Jia
Joy and Sorrow is the order of the day, with 2 paddlers proceeding and 2 being ousted out. Singapore's paddler Wang Yuegu prevailed in a neck-and-neck game against South Korean Kim Kyung-Ah to enter the women's single semifinals in the ITTF table tennis Pro Tour Grand Finals on Saturday. It took Wang one and half hours to book a 7-11, 11-9, 7-11, 11-4, 8-11, 11-3, 11-9 win against the South Korean. The two players had a fierce game and leveled at 3-3 to enter the winning seventh set. World No. 11 Kim, who eliminated defending champion Li Xiaoxia from China the day before, had an early lead but Wang called time out to receive advice from Coach Jing Jun Hong. It was a question of mental fortitude and great patience with the tactic of waiting for the right ball to attack and then attacking strongly towards the elbow of her adversary's playing arm that brought rewards. Throughout the duel matters were on the proverbial knife-edge; at 9-all it was parity, Wang Yue Gu kept her focus, she did not panic, she secured the next two points and a place in the penultimate round. "Kim is a strong player, but I think she was a little bit tired in the seventh set," said Wang after the game, "She defeated Li Xiaoxia yesterday and I think that made her tired." In another women's single game, Chinese Guo Yan cracked down Li Jiawei from Singapore12-10, 11-6, 11-4 and 11-4 to advance into the semifinals. Li Jia Wei started as the more confident player, she attacked quickly from the forehand with her topspin play, and her short backhand service directed to the Guo Yan forehand reaping success. She established a 10-6 lead but then promptly lost six points in a row. The opening game loss shattered the confidence of Li Jia Wei whilst her adversary grew in stature. Guo Yan totally dominated matters and will be meeting Wang Yue Gu in the Semi-Finals. Despite the defeat, Jiawei was rather satisfied with the outcome of the game. In the lower half of the Draw, our paddlers suffered the same fate. Feng Tianwei succeeded in another gruelling seven games encounter against Austria's Liu Jia, whilst compatriot Sun Bei Bei suffered a straight game defeat against 2nd Seed Guo Yue. Feng Tianwei won 11-4, 7-11, 11-7, 10-12, 11-3, 9-11, 11-7 whilst Bei Bei lost 11-9, 12-10, 11-7, 11-7. Wang Yue Gu will face Guo Yan at 1400hrs, while Feng Tianwei will take on Guo Yue at 1530hrs. The finals for the Women's Doubles which consists of Li Jiawei/Sun Bei Bei and Kim Kyung Ah/Park Mi Young will take place a 1900hrs.

国际乒总巡回总决赛: 狮城男女双决战台韩 “双薇”发威新队八强揽四席
 新加坡男双高宁与杨子，以及女双李佳薇与孙蓓蓓，今天携手晋级国际乒总巡回总决赛的决赛，将分别决战中华台北的庄智渊与吴志祺及韩国的金暻娥与朴美英。
在男双打半决赛，高宁与杨子在首局失利下，以4比2力挫俄罗斯的利文特索夫与鲁布特索夫，六局比分是5比11、11比8、11比9、6比11、11比9和11比8。
在女双半决赛，李佳薇与孙蓓蓓以4比2战胜罗马尼亚的多迪安与萨马拉，比分是11比9、12比14、7比11、11比7、11比7与11比5。
女单的八场比赛中，除了李晓霞被爆冷淘 汰外，其余场次表现正常。几名主要对手均没有让冷门重演，新加坡四女将“双薇”、王越古和孙蓓蓓均战胜各自对手，她们在八强阵容中揽得四席。

1980年出生的王越古如今已在乒坛上走过了22个年头，今年北京奥运会，王越古的表现差强人意，首轮就以1-4败给了多米尼加选手吴雪， 提前退出奥运赛场。上月底，王越古再次遭遇重创，波兰公开赛决赛输给小将冯天薇，与冠军擦肩而过。在今晚的比赛中，王越古的对手是中 国澳门选手马秋燕，后者很少在国际赛场上亮相。这场比赛的结果在大家的预料之中，王越古直落四局轻取对手，马秋燕四局总共收获12分。

李佳薇和姜华珺是国乒的主要对手，后者有张怡宁克星之称，然而姜华珺近来受到腰伤的困扰，李佳薇则在刘国栋的带领之下越发完善， 特点是接发球多用正胶突击或直接劈长，在相持中反手速度较快，力量均衡，往往能使对方陷入追分的境地。在今晚的比赛中，李佳薇表现稳 定，首局11-4取胜极大地提高了自信心。随后三局，姜华珺没有太多的进攻办法，新加坡一姐稳中求变，迅速以11-6和两个11-7拿下对手，4-0 横扫姜华珺轻松晋级八强，明天她将与中国老将郭焱争夺四强中的一个名额。

新加坡新星冯天薇近来上升势头较猛，去年12月她的世界排名仅列第36位，经过一年的努力，冯天薇本月登上了世界第六位，成为近来进 步最大的女单选手。不久前结束的波兰公开赛上，冯天薇决赛战胜队友王越古，夺得首个巡回赛女单冠军。在今晚的比赛中，冯天薇继续保持 上佳状态，在与荷兰选手李佼的对抗中占据了得天独厚的优势，最终冯天薇以4-0轻取对手，尤其是第三局，李佼只获得3分的机会球。

波兰第一女单李倩目前世界排名第21位，比11月份上升了3位。新加坡选手孙蓓蓓由于近段状态不稳，从上月的第25位下降至30位。从以往 的赛事来看，此役双方势均力敌，取胜的关键因素在于临场发挥。前两局孙蓓蓓状态极佳，李倩慢热自食苦果，11-9、11-7，孙蓓蓓连下两城 。随后两局李倩逐渐适应了对方打法，并以11-9、11-8连扳两局。2-2战平之后，孙蓓蓓大开杀戒，很快就以11-4、11-2连下两城，迅而以4-2 战胜李倩，再次为新加坡壮大女单队伍。 (腾讯体育讯 菲菲)

ITTF Pro Tour Grand Finals - Great Performance in Macau
 Having qualified for the Finals in the Women's Doubles Event earlier, our female paddlers continued their good form in the Women's Singles Event. Wang Yuegu, Li Jia Wei and Feng Tianwei all ran away 4-0 victors in their respective women’s singles matches and Sun Bei Bei defeating Li Qian in 6 games. While Wang was expected to overcome her host nation opponent, Ma Chao In, with little difficulty, Li turned in a good performance to overcome Hong Kong's Jiang Huajun, her adversary for the night. STTA High Performance Manager Eddy Tay was happy with Jia Wei's results. He mentioned that Jia Wei played to form and that her match tomorrow against China's Guo Yan may reep unexpected results as Jia Wei plays well without pressure. Li also states that she will fight for every point against her China opponent. Wang prevailed 11-7, 11-1, 11-3, 11-1, whilst Jia Wei and Tinawei succeeded 11-4, 11-6, 11-7, 11-7 and 11-6, 11-8, 11-3, 11-7 respectively. Meanwhile for Sun Bei Bei, she caused an upset against the Polish Defender. Sun explained that she heeded Coach Liu Guo Dong's advice and studied the video of her defeat against defending players. Sun Bei Bei won 11-9, 11-7, 9-11, 8-11, 11-4, 11-2. Wang Yue Gu will meet South Korean and World No. 1 defender Kim Kyung Ah tomorrow. Kim Kyung Ah has caused 2 upsets earlier on. She beat Top Seed China's Li Xiaoxia and overcame 2nd Seeds Hong Kong's Jiang Huajun/Tie Yana. Feng Tianwei and Sun Bei Bei are schedule to meet Austria's Liu Jia and China's Guo Yue respectively.

ITTF Pro Tour Grand Finals - Top Seeds Book Place in Finals!
 The top seeds in the Men's and Women's Doubles, Gao Ning/Yang Zi and Li Jia Wei/Sun Bei Bei duly booked booked their place in the gold medal contest following a semi-final success over the Russian partnership of Alexei Liventsov and Igor Rubtsov and Romania duo of Dodean Daniela and Samara Elizabeta respectively. Gao/Yang is the perfect pair, with Yang Zi creating opportunities and Gao Ning finishing off the opponents. They won 5-11, 11-8, 11-9, 6-11, 11-9, 11-8. The combination of Jia Wei and Bei Bei proved to be another success, one with speed, another with spin. They recorded a six games success against the Romanians, 11-9, 12-14, 7-11, 11-7, 11-7, 11-5. Meanwhile for Yu Meng Yu, she settled for Silver in the U21 Girls' Singles. In the Finals against the Japanese Defender, Yu Meng Yu put up a tough fight but the playing style of a defender proved not to be Yu's liking. For the second time in the tournament Meng Yu had suffered at the hands of the Japanese Star. She lost 12-10, 11-3, 11-3, 11-3. Finals for the Doubles Event will take place on the 14th December.

ITTF Pro Tour Grand Finals - Success for Yu Meng Yu
 The backhand of Yu Meng Yu proved the decisive factor in her contest against Troshneva Elena and Top Seed Dodean Daniela. Against Troshneva Elena, it was the first attack of Yu Meng Yu from the backhand that helped her dominated matters time and again. It wasnt the power of the stroke, but was the heavy rotation she imparted on the ball. The variations created reaped dividends. She succeeded 11-6, 13-11, 12-10, 11-4. Yu Meng Yu then maintained her unbeatened record against Dodean Daniela. The Roman Lady has a strong backhand too, but Yu tends to play with more topspin and that variation proved crucial. She proved to be the slightly safer player, the more consistent on the big points. She won 4-11, 13-11, 12-10, 9-11, 12-10, 11-8. In the last match against Japan's Ishigaki Yuka, The stalwart defence of the Japanese star combined with her increasing ability to attack quickly won the day. Yu Meng Yu lost 11-9, 11-5, 11-4, 11-8. Yu Meng Yu qualified for the Semi-Finals having achieved a 2nd position in Group A. She will meet Germany's Barthel Zhenqi tomorrow morning. Ma Liang and Liu Zhong Ze, who participated in the U21 Boys' Event, failed to qualify for the Semi-Finals. They appear 3rd and 4th position in the group respectively. Meanwhile in the Women's Doubles Event, Yu Meng Yu partnered Feng Tianwei to take on Korea's Kim Kyung Ah/Park Mi Young. Yu/Feng faltered against the defensive pair. They lost in straight games. ITTF Pro Tour Grand Finals - Tough Draw for Li Jiawei in Singles, but Bye in Doubles
In the top half of the draw, Wang Yue Gu will be meeting Macau's Ma Chao for the first time at a world ranking competition, whilst in another duel, 5th Seed Li Jia Wei will be facing Hong Kong's Jiang Huajun. The odds slightly favour Jia Wei, having won two of their three encounters in world ranking events and recently in the Chinese Super League. Meanwhile in the lower half of the draw, 4th seed Feng Tianwei will be confronting Li Jiao, the Dutch Lady. Feng has prevailed in all three previous encounters. Also, Sun Bei Bei will be meeting Poland's defender Li Qian. The two has never met in major international competition before. In the Women's Doubles Event, only seven pairs are in action. This resulted in Li Jia Wei and Sun Bei Bei, the top seeds, receiving an opening round bye. Feng Tianwei and Yu Meng Yu will confront Olympics Bronze Medalist Kim Kyung Ah and Park Mi Young. Kim/Park has defeated our paddlers in many occasions. In the U21 Girls' Event, Yu Meng Yu is being grouped alongside with Top Seed Dodean Daniela from Romania, Japanese Ishigaki Yuka and Russia's Elena Troshneva in Group A.

In the Men's Doubles Event, the Top 2 Seeds, Gao Ning/Yang Zi and Chinese Taipei's Chuang Chih-Yuan and Wu Chih Chi receive bye in the opening round. Gao/Yang will most likely be meeting the Doubles Pair from Russia. Ma Liang and Liu Zhong Ze are grouped in Group A and B in the U21 Boys' Event respectively. Ma Liang is grouped alongside with Top Seed Lebesson Emmanuel, Portgual's Marcos Freitas and Chinese Taipei's Chiang Hung-Chieh, whilst Liu Zhong Ze will be facing Russia's Skackov Kirill, 2nd Seed Mattenet Adrien and Czech Republic's Lubomir Jancarik.

国际乒联公布了本赛季巡回赛年终总决赛的参赛名单，国乒男单五虎将全部出击，女单方面张怡宁遗憾缺席，更让人惊讶的是，本届总决赛双打竟无中国组合获得参赛资格。
男单中国奥运会冠亚军马琳王皓分别占据了总决赛一、二号种子的席位，此外马龙(4)、陈玘(6)和王励勤(7)也都将披挂上阵。让人意外的是刚刚在波兰公开赛夺冠的德国名将波尔将无缘本届总决赛，白俄罗斯名将萨姆索诺夫位列三号种子，他也将是中国男单冲冠的最大对手。此外，中国台北第一单打庄智渊，韩国雅典奥运会冠军柳承敏以及丹麦悍将梅兹也都可能给中国队制造麻烦。
两届奥运会女单冠军张怡宁因为今年缺席了一系列的公开赛赛事、参赛站数不够，尽管目前排名还在世界第二，但却失去了总决赛资格。卫冕冠军李晓霞被列为头号种子，郭跃和郭焱将与李晓霞并肩出战。新加坡新星冯天薇上升势头惊人，和李佳薇分别列在了四号、五号种子，另一位新加坡名将王越古成为七号种子，中国队与新加坡队的对抗也将成为最大看点。中国香港队则由姜华珺(10)和帖雅娜(15)参赛。近日刚刚传出恋情的日本名将福原爱以及其他日本选手也都全部缺席。
上届总决赛陈玘/王励勤和郭跃/李晓霞分别为中国队拿下了男双和女双的金牌，但在本届总决赛上，将看不到中国选手的身影，原因主要是因为备战奥运会时中国队不断尝试各种组合，导致参赛站数不足。新加坡的高宁/杨子和李佳薇/孙蓓蓓分别被列为了男女双打的头号种子。
每届乒联巡回赛总决赛分别有男女单打各16人、双打各八对选手参加，本届比赛将于12月11日至12月14日在中国澳门举行。

ITTF Pro Tour Polish Open - 1 Gold, 3 Silvers!
Feng Tianwei won her first career ITTF Pro Tour Women’s Singles title, when she succeeded in overcoming no.2 seed and compatriot, Wang Yue Gu to clinch gold. She dominated matters from the start to finish to clinch Gold. Feng Tianwei won 11-9, 11-1, 11-1, 11-9. Meanwhile, both our doubles pair Feng Tianwei/Yu Meng Yu and Gao Ning/Yang Zi had to settle for Silver. Top Seeds, Romania’s Daniela Dodean and Elizabeta Samara emerged as champion after defeating second seeds, Feng Tianwei and Yu Meng Yu in six games; they succeeded 10-12, 11-9, 10-12, 20-18, 11-7, 11-5. At the final hurdle, the top seeds, Gao Ning and Yang Zi lost in a tough seven games duel to the Poland pair of Wang Zeng Yi/Lucjan Blaszczyk. They lost 11-8, 12-10, 7-11, 3-11, 11-6, 8-11, 11-8.

女团外援新加坡双星闪耀 唐娜实力欠缺无力担副手
北京奥运会中国乒乓球队的大获全胜，让乒协放心地放松了外援的政策，本年度乒超赛场上多了些“外援”。不过，活跃在乒超女子比赛上的外援选手，也都是“海外乒团”，而且还全部都是新加坡和中国香港队的绝对主力。
五名女子外援中，常规赛表现最为出色的非属李佳薇不可。虽然北大方正整体实力有限，但最后能够获得第六，作为头号主力的她发挥了应有的作用，尤其是在与冠军球队鲁能队的常规赛中，她一人连挑对方李楠和李晓霞两员大将，表现堪称惊艳。
冯天薇作为鲁能队二号单打选手，常规赛上场机会不多，表现也不能让人满意，但在最后决赛中，她两次击败对方外援唐娜，为本队夺冠贡献了自己的一份力量，同样功不可没。
反倒是唐娜的表现就真的让人有点失望了。整个乒超赛程，单打只有两场胜利，不但不能为球队建功立业，反而让队友承担了过多的压力，双打也没有太突出的作用，引进其可谓辽宁队本赛季一大败笔。笔者在此并无诋毁唐娜的意思，唐娜的斗志也是值得肯定的，但笔者只想说明唐娜的实力确实不足以挑起队中二号选手的重任。
中国香港队如今的头两号主力帖雅娜和姜华珺似乎受到她们的队友林菱的传染，延续了中国香港队选手在乒超联赛中的拙劣表现，几乎没有什么值得骄傲的胜利便结束了一个赛季的征程，让人对她们以及中国香港队今后的竞争力感到担忧。

冠军鲁能功臣评分 李晓霞接近完美谁是最弱一环
2008年中国乒乓球超级联赛结束了女团决赛的争夺，死里逃生的鲁能·潞安集团在第三回合生死战，直落三盘横扫横扫辽宁鞍钢，二度捧起了乒超关键奖杯。在主教练唐诚的带领下，李晓霞、彭陆洋、冯天薇以及李楠四位球员精诚合作，最终取得了一座来之不易的冠军奖杯，在这里结合整个赛季的表现，通过评分的方式来展现五个人对这座冠军奖杯的贡献。 李晓霞9分 鲁能最终夺冠，主将李晓霞无疑是最大的功臣，李晓霞延续了过去几个赛季在乒超的惊人胜率，新赛季19胜5负高居胜率榜榜首，在决赛第二回合力克辽宁主将郭跃，在球队首战主场沦陷的情况下，帮助球队大逆转。生死战首盘拼下郭跃，双打同碰彭陆洋惊天逆转对手，为球队最终赢得了冠军。 略微有些不足的是，李晓霞在第一阶段2、3轮，负于李佳薇和广东老将曹幸妮，导致全队士气受到影响，遭受重创。争冠赛首回合，李晓霞受到感冒影响，身体不在状态，单双打连丢两分，导致己队形势一度极为不利。球员遭遇低潮在所难免，综合来看，李晓霞起到了中流砥柱的作用，获得9分实至名归。 彭陆洋8分 鲁能在赛季初深陷低迷，队内实力派大将、全国赛冠军彭陆洋逃脱不了干系，但彭陆洋与李楠的双打还是保持了不俗的胜率，成为继李晓霞之外球队最有把握的得分点，在第三场决赛，彭陆洋同李晓霞在0-2落后的绝境下，上演惊天逆转，为球队锁定了冠军。彭陆洋在第2阶段单打比赛也有着极为出色的发挥，半决赛第二回合，横扫此前保持不败的华东理工副将饶静文，决赛第二回合，则险胜同样保持不败、五度在决胜盘为辽宁建功的常晨晨，为球队最终惊天逆转，奠定了基础。 冯天薇7分 被寄予厚望的新加坡强援冯天薇，整体上的表现与人们的期望有些不小的差距。在乒超赛场一直没有找到世界杯大胜郭跃的感觉，导致一度失去了第二单打位置，好在进入关键的第二阶段争夺，冯天薇及时找到了感觉，一度给郭焱和郭跃制造不小的麻烦，决赛两胜唐娜为鲁能贡献关键的两分。 李楠6分 老国手李楠在好手云集的鲁能没有获得太多上场机会，作为交流来的内援，还是起到了自己的作用，同彭陆洋的双打还是以7胜5负的战绩高居积分榜第4，然而在关键的决赛前两回合，李楠球拍两次没能通过检测，给球队几乎带来毁灭性的打击，第三场也未能获得出场机会。李楠整个赛季的表现，相较于其他几位还是有着一定的差距。 唐诚（主教练）8分 球队最终夺冠，鲁能主教练唐诚居功至伟，决赛第三回合，顶住压力果断变阵，球员们也不负众望成功夺冠。对彭陆洋的合理使用，也使得鲁能在前两回合溃败的情况下，保留住了冲击关键的希望，但结合整个赛季的表现看，这位豪门主帅还是有一些不足的之处，球队尽管好手云集，却在常规赛一度深陷泥潭，最终只是以第3的名次勉强进入第二阶段争夺战，但总体而言，唐诚还是非常出色地完成了任务。

Tournament of Champions - Finalised Players
The annual Tournament of Champions is around the corner again. This high standard competition invites all the Champions of the 4 major Table Tennis Tournament, namely the Olympic Champion, World Champion, World Cup Champion and Pro Tour Grand Finals Champion. However, a maximum of three players from the same association are allowed in either the Men’s or Women’s competition each year. Hence this year Pro Tour Grand Finals Champion Guo Yan will have to give it a miss. Replacing her will be Wang Yue Gu, as Wang is the Highest Ranked player besides Li Jiawei and Feng Tianwei and the third paddler to qualify for Singapore. In the male counterpart, South Korea's Ryu Seung Min gave up his nomination and is replaced by Taiwan's Chuang Chih Yuan. China's Ma Long and Chen Qi are unable to participate despite their World Ranking as China has reached the maximum quota in the Men's Singles Event as well. 继在今年北京奥运会上取得一面女团银牌之后，我国乒乓球女将们又在最近结束的国际乒联巡回大奖赛总决赛中取得佳绩，不只夺得女双冠军，而且女单复赛8强中还占了半数，虽然最后只有王越古与冯天薇杀进半决赛，而且只都在4强赛分别中输给中国选手，但是可以肯定的是，我国女队已经取代香港，成为给予中国女队最大威胁的队伍。 从本月初刚出炉的国际乒联最新世界排名中看来，前5名全部归中国选手所得，我国的冯天薇、李佳薇和王越古分别排在第6、第7和第8位，香港的帖雅娜和姜华珺则名列第9及第10。 虽然孙蓓蓓的单打排名只在第30位，可是她与李佳薇的双打却在总决赛中表现出色，以较佳的配合在决赛力挫韩国的削球组合——金璟娥与朴美英夺得冠军。 小将于梦雨则在总决赛的21岁以下女单决赛中获得亚军，虽然她目前的世界排名只在第41位，但是她的潜能不错，有望成为新加坡女队中的明日之星。 从我国目前的人员配备来看，老中青的搭配比较合理，球队的上升空间也还比较充足。李佳薇与王越古经验丰富，冯天薇在奥运会与最近的比赛中都证明自己已经跻身世界一流高手的行列中，成为中国的主要对手之一。 从目前世界女子乒乓球的整体格局来看，过去几年一直对中国威胁较大的香港和韩国队都受到年龄问题的影响，明显导致实力下滑。至于日本队，他们的几名小将都明显显得有些稚嫩，而且上升的空间也比较有限，预料对中国的威胁并不会太大。算来算去，反而是我国在今后一段时间内将成为中国队唯一的对手，对这个乒乓球王国构成一定的威胁。 (来源: 联合晚报)

ITTF Pro Tour Grand Finals - Top Seeds Justify Position!
Our paddlers finished the season in style after lifting both the women's and men's doubles titles. It is the first time our paddlers struck gold in the competition since it began in 1996. Top-seeds Li Jiawei and Sun Beibei scorched South Koreans Kim Kyung Ah and Park Mi Young 4-1 in the women's final, before compatriots Gao Ning and Yang Zi gave cause for a double celebration. The top-seeds defeated Taiwan's Chuang Chih-yuan and Wu Chih-chi 4-2. For Li and Sun, their win yesterday was especially sweet as it was their first over their nemeses Kim and Park. Li and Sun took the first game 11-5. But the Koreans’ deadly defensive back spins caused our paddlers many problems in the second game, taking it 11-6. The Koreans were leading in the third game before Li and Sun rallied to take the game, 11-9. They closed out the finals matches 11-8, 11-4. It was a slightly tougher affair for Gao Ning and Yang Zi. They marched through the first game, trampling over Chuang and Wu 11-2. But the Taiwanese pair came back strongly to take the next game 11-9. They took the lead in a hard-fought third game, winning 17-15, but they fell flat in the fourth game and could only watch Gao and Yang level the tie with a 11-1 victory. They then finished the remaining games 14-12 and 11-7 to take the final 4-2. Li and Gao said that the absence of the Chinese pairs should not take the gloss off their victories. Li mentioned that the Chinese players are definitely their main rivals, but it was not easy for them to win this title and that they had to play very well to do so. Gao added that those who qualified for this tournament are of a certain standard. They still had to go all out to win. |

ITTF Pro Tour Grand Finals - Wang Yuegu nails down Kim Kyung-Ah, Feng Tianwei prevailed against Liu Jia
Joy and Sorrow is the order of the day, with 2 paddlers proceeding and 2 being ousted out. Singapore's paddler Wang Yuegu prevailed in a neck-and-neck game against South Korean Kim Kyung-Ah to enter the women's single semifinals in the ITTF table tennis Pro Tour Grand Finals on Saturday. It took Wang one and half hours to book a 7-11, 11-9, 7-11, 11-4, 8-11, 11-3, 11-9 win against the South Korean. The two players had a fierce game and leveled at 3-3 to enter the winning seventh set. World No. 11 Kim, who eliminated defending champion Li Xiaoxia from China the day before, had an early lead but Wang called time out to receive advice from Coach Jing Jun Hong. She established a 10-6 lead but then promptly lost six points in a row. The opening game loss shattered the confidence of Li Jia Wei whilst her adversary grew in stature. Guo Yan totally dominated matters and will be meeting Wang Yue Gu in the Semi-Finals. Despite the defeat, Jiawei was rather satisfied with the outcome of the game. In the lower half of the Draw, our paddlers suffered the same fate. Feng Tianwei succeeded in another gruelling seven games encounter against Austria's Liu Jia, whilst compatriot Sun Bei Bei suffered a straight game defeat against 2nd Seed Guo Yue. Feng Tianwei won 11-4, 7-11, 11-7, 10-12, 11-3, 9-11, 11-7 whilst Bei Bei lost 11-9, 12-10, 11-7, 11-7. Wang Yue Gu will face Guo Yan at 1400hrs, while Feng Tianwei will take on Guo Yue at 1530hrs. The finals for the Women's Doubles which consists of Li Jiawei/Sun Bei Bei and Kim Kyung Ah/Park Mi Young will take place a 1900hrs.

国际乒总巡回总决赛: 狮城男女双决战台韩 “双薇”发威新队八强揽四席
新加坡男双高宁与杨子，以及女双李佳薇与孙蓓蓓，今天携手晋级国际乒总巡回总决赛的决赛，将分别决战中华台北的庄智渊与吴志祺及韩国的金暻娥与朴美英。
在男双打半决赛，高宁与杨子在首局失利下，以4比2力挫俄罗斯的利文特索夫与鲁布特索夫，六局比分是5比11、11比8、11比9、6比11、11比9和11比8。
在女双半决赛，李佳薇与孙蓓蓓以4比2战胜罗马尼亚的多迪安与萨马拉，比分是11比9、12比14、7比11、11比7、11比7与11比5。

新加坡新星冯天薇近来上升势头较猛，去年12月她的世界排名仅列第36位，经过一年的努力，冯天薇本月登上了世界第六位，成为近来进 步最大的女单选手。不久前结束的波兰公开赛上，冯天薇决赛战胜队友王越古，夺得首个巡回赛女单冠军。在今晚的比赛中，冯天薇继续保持 上佳状态，在与荷兰选手李佼的对抗中占据了得天独厚的优势，最终冯天薇以4-0轻取对手，尤其是第三局，李佼只获得3分的机会球。

ITTF Pro Tour Grand Finals - Great Performance in Macau
Having qualified for the Finals in the Women's Doubles Event earlier, our female paddlers continued their good form in the Women's Singles Event. Wang Yuegu, Li Jia Wei and Feng Tianwei all ran away 4-0 victors in their respective women’s singles matches and Sun Bei Bei defeating Li Qian in 6 games. While Wang was expected to overcome her host nation opponent, Ma Chao In, with little difficulty, Li turned in a good performance to overcome Hong Kong's Jiang Huajun, her adversary for the night. STTA High Performance Manager Eddy Tay was happy with Jia Wei's results. He mentioned that Jia Wei played to form and that her match tomorrow against China's Guo Yan may reep unexpected results as Jia Wei plays well without pressure. Li also states that she will fight for every point against her China opponent. Wang prevailed 11-7, 11-1, 11-3, 11-1, whilst Jia Wei and Tinawei succeeded 11-4, 11-6, 11-7, 11-7 and 11-6, 11-8, 11-3, 11-7 respectively. Meanwhile for Sun Bei Bei, she caused an upset against the Polish Defender. Sun explained that she heeded Coach Liu Guo Dong's advice and studied the video of her defeat against defending players. Sun Bei Bei won 11-9, 11-7, 9-11, 8-11, 11-4, 11-2. Wang Yue Gu will meet South Korean and World No. 1 defender Kim Kyung Ah tomorrow. Kim Kyung Ah has caused 2 upsets earlier on. She beat Top Seed China's Li Xiaoxia and overcame 2nd Seeds Hong Kong's Jiang Huajun/Tie Yana. Feng Tianwei and Sun Bei Bei are schedule to meet Austria's Liu Jia and China's Guo Yue respectively.

ITTF Pro Tour Grand Finals - Top Seeds Book Place in Finals!
The top seeds in the Men's and Women's Doubles, Gao Ning/Yang Zi and Li Jia Wei/Sun Bei Bei duly booked booked their place in the gold medal contest following a semi-final success over the Russian partnership of Alexei Liventsov and Igor Rubtsov and Romania duo of Dodean Daniela and Samara Elizabeta respectively. Gao/Yang is the perfect pair, with Yang Zi creating opportunities and Gao Ning finishing off the opponents. They won 5-11, 11-8, 11-9, 6-11, 11-9, 11-8. The combination of Jia Wei and Bei Bei proved to be another success, one with speed, another with spin. They recorded a six games success against the Romanians, 11-9, 12-14, 7-11, 11-7, 11-7, 11-5. Meanwhile for Yu Meng Yu, she settled for Silver in the U21 Girls' Singles. In the Finals against the Japanese Defender, Yu Meng Yu put up a tough fight but the playing style of a defender proved not to be Yu's liking. For the second time in the tournament Meng Yu had suffered at the hands of the Japanese Star. She lost 12-10, 11-3, 11-3, 11-3. Finals for the Doubles Event will take place on the 14th December.

ITTF Pro Tour Grand Finals - Success for Yu Meng Yu
The backhand of Yu Meng Yu proved the decisive factor in her contest against Troshneva Elena and Top Seed Dodean Daniela. Against Troshneva Elena, it was the first attack of Yu Meng Yu from the backhand that helped her dominated matters time and again. It wasnt the power of the stroke, but was the heavy rotation she imparted on the ball. The variations created reaped dividends. She succeeded 11-6, 13-11, 12-10, 11-4. Yu Meng Yu then maintained her unbeatened record against Dodean Daniela. The Roman Lady has a strong backhand too, but Yu tends to play with more topspin and that variation proved crucial. She proved to be the slightly safer player, the more consistent on the big points. She won 4-11, 13-11, 12-10, 9-11, 12-10, 11-8. In the last match against Japan's Ishigaki Yuka, The stalwart defence of the Japanese star combined with her increasing ability to attack quickly won the day. Yu Meng Yu lost 11-9, 11-5, 11-4, 11-8. Yu Meng Yu qualified for the Semi-Finals having achieved a 2nd position in Group A. She will meet Germany's Barthel Zhenqi tomorrow morning. Ma Liang and Liu Zhong Ze, who participated in the U21 Boys' Event, failed to qualify for the Semi-Finals. They appear 3rd and 4th position in the group respectively. Meanwhile in the Women's Doubles Event, Yu Meng Yu partnered Feng Tianwei to take on Korea's Kim Kyung Ah/Park Mi Young. Yu/Feng faltered against the defensive pair. They lost in straight games. ITTF Pro Tour Grand Finals - Tough Draw for Li Jiawei in Singles, but Bye in Doubles
In the top half of the draw, Wang Yue Gu will be meeting Macau's Ma Chao for the first time at a world ranking competition, whilst in another duel, 5th Seed Li Jia Wei will be facing Hong Kong's Jiang Huajun. The odds slightly favour Jia Wei, having won two of their three encounters in world ranking events and recently in the Chinese Super League. Meanwhile in the lower half of the draw, 4th seed Feng Tianwei will be confronting Li Jiao, the Dutch Lady. Feng has prevailed in all three previous encounters. Also, Sun Bei Bei will be meeting Poland's defender Li Qian. The two has never met in major international competition before. In the Women's Doubles Event, only seven pairs are in action. This resulted in Li Jia Wei and Sun Bei Bei, the top seeds, receiving an opening round bye. Feng Tianwei and Yu Meng Yu will confront Olympics Bronze Medalist Kim Kyung Ah and Park Mi Young. Kim/Park has defeated our paddlers in many occasions. In the U21 Girls' Event, Yu Meng Yu is being grouped alongside with Top Seed Dodean Daniela from Romania, Japanese Ishigaki Yuka and Russia's Elena Troshneva in Group A.

国际乒联公布了本赛季巡回赛年终总决赛的参赛名单，国乒男单五虎将全部出击，女单方面张怡宁遗憾缺席，更让人惊讶的是，本届总决赛双打竟无中国组合获得参赛资格。
男单中国奥运会冠亚军马琳王皓分别占据了总决赛一、二号种子的席位，此外马龙(4)、陈玘(6)和王励勤(7)也都将披挂上阵。让人意外的是刚刚在波兰公开赛夺冠的德国名将波尔将无缘本届总决赛，白俄罗斯名将萨姆索诺夫位列三号种子，他也将是中国男单冲冠的最大对手。此外，中国台北第一单打庄智渊，韩国雅典奥运会冠军柳承敏以及丹麦悍将梅兹也都可能给中国队制造麻烦。
两届奥运会女单冠军张怡宁因为今年缺席了一系列的公开赛赛事、参赛站数不够，尽管目前排名还在世界第二，但却失去了总决赛资格。卫冕冠军李晓霞被列为头号种子，郭跃和郭焱将与李晓霞并肩出战。新加坡新星冯天薇上升势头惊人，和李佳薇分别列在了四号、五号种子，另一位新加坡名将王越古成为七号种子，中国队与新加坡队的对抗也将成为最大看点。中国香港队则由姜华珺(10)和帖雅娜(15)参赛。近日刚刚传出恋情的日本名将福原爱以及其他日本选手也都全部缺席。
上届总决赛陈玘/王励勤和郭跃/李晓霞分别为中国队拿下了男双和女双的金牌，但在本届总决赛上，将看不到中国选手的身影，原因主要是因为备战奥运会时中国队不断尝试各种组合，导致参赛站数不足。新加坡的高宁/杨子和李佳薇/孙蓓蓓分别被列为了男女双打的头号种子。
每届乒联巡回赛总决赛分别有男女单打各16人、双打各八对选手参加，本届比赛将于12月11日至12月14日在中国澳门举行。

ITTF Pro Tour Polish Open - 1 Gold, 3 Silvers!
Feng Tianwei won her first career ITTF Pro Tour Women’s Singles title, when she succeeded in overcoming no.2 seed and compatriot, Wang Yue Gu to clinch gold. She dominated matters from the start to finish to clinch Gold. Feng Tianwei won 11-9, 11-1, 11-1, 11-9. Meanwhile, both our doubles pair Feng Tianwei/Yu Meng Yu and Gao Ning/Yang Zi had to settle for Silver. Top Seeds, Romania’s Daniela Dodean and Elizabeta Samara emerged as champion after defeating second seeds, Feng Tianwei and Yu Meng Yu in six games; they succeeded 10-12, 11-9, 10-12, 20-18, 11-7, 11-5. At the final hurdle, the top seeds, Gao Ning and Yang Zi lost in a tough seven games duel to the Poland pair of Wang Zeng Yi/Lucjan Blaszczyk. They lost 11-8, 12-10, 7-11, 3-11, 11-6, 8-11, 11-8.
