Singapore Youth Olympics - Local Talents will Represent the State
Singapore Table Tennis Association (STTA) has come up with a new plan in better preparing our young in the Youth Olympics. STTA explained that they will be selecting the promising young paddlers from the currently 20 National Training Team youths. After the selection, these paddlers will undergo intensive training and be sent overseas for competition to gain more exposure. STTA has no intention to use foreign talents such as paddlers from China to participate in the Youth Olympics.

There are 3 events, namely the Boys' Singles, Girls' Singles and Mixed Team events. However, Pang Xue Jie will miss his chance of participating in the Youth Olympics as only those aged 14 to 16 are allowed to take part. Each NOC is allowed to send up to 2 participatants, 1 male, 1 female.

Currently, the 2 most promising paddlers to be selected are Lim Jie Yan and Li Siyun Isabelle.
