李佳薇：海外兵团和我没关系 期待和王楠再打一场
 3比0，新加坡队就这么轻松的赢了，中国队决赛的对手也产生了。面对日本队今天排出的怪阵，由福原爱担当三单，新加坡队没有给对手任何机会。只是李佳薇第二场比赛遇到了一点小麻烦，好在她及时调整了状态，在先丢一局的情况下连扳三局取胜，为新加坡队今天的胜利打了良好的基础。
今天赢了很高兴
“有想过他们可能用这样的阵容，但是也没有确定，不过今天进入状态挺慢的，每一场我都是慢热型的”李佳薇赛后向记者表示其实赛前可能想到了日本会排出怪阵，但到了赛场，李佳薇状态还是融入得比较慢。
对于半决赛的胜利，李佳薇也是难掩兴奋：“我觉得今天首先能够在半决赛赢非常高兴赢球之后心情很好，很高兴，好教练是非常重要的”
决赛去拼中国队
对新加坡队来说，打进决赛就是一种胜利，因为她们知道，明天的决赛她们并没有把握去战胜中国队，主教练刘国栋赛后就曾经说过，明天赢中国队的机会是百分之一。那么面对这百分之一的机会，李佳薇由是怎么想呢
“明天希望发挥出水平，进入世乒赛团体赛的决赛这也是第一次，跟中国队比赛，不管我跟哪个球员打都应该抱着拼的心态。因为中国队是世界上最强的，跟她们打不能有任何的思想包袱。这都是刘国栋刘指导给我们带来的，她带领我们创造了很多奇迹。”
新加坡决赛的对手中国队目前可谓是人才济济，无论是老将和新人，都在本届比赛有着出色的发挥，当记者让李佳薇谈谈对于中国队的看法是，她表示：“张怡宁技术全面，目前她还是中国的领军人物。李晓霞郭跃都是新一代的球员，包括郭焱她们，实力也很强。(王楠呢？)感觉还行，其实我跟谁遇到都差不多 ，因为她们在我们眼里都一样，都很强。我觉得我们已经完成任务了，还是要拼她们，跟王楠也一样，尽力打” 虽然曾经在04雅典1/4决赛中4比1赢过王楠，但李佳薇还是不敢小看王楠的实力。
"我也期待和王楠再打一场"
由于进入了决赛，李佳薇赛后的话题也比较多了。“海外兵团限制令我觉得跟我没什么关系，我也不是在这个条规之内的。但是今后具体怎么样也不是我考虑的内容，反正跟我没什么关系。”当记者问她对海外兵团有什么看法时，她却对此表示毫无所谓，毕竟她13岁就去了新加坡队打球，所以这条限令对于她来说根本起不了作用。
“我期待着呢”当记者告之王楠也希望和她再进行一场对决时，她也对记者表示她的想法。因此，我们有理由相信，明天新加坡队能给观众带来一场更精彩的比赛，对李佳薇如此，对中国队也如此，对广大的球迷也如此。

刘国栋：女团决赛打中国胜算仅1% 限制令限制不了啥
 2月29日，在第49届世界乒乓球锦标赛团体赛的一场女子团体半决赛中，2号种子新加坡队3比0横扫日本队，杀进决赛，她们将在明天与中国队展开一场争夺考比伦杯的战斗。即使落败，世乒赛团体亚军的成绩对于新加坡队来说也已经是历史性的突破。带领全队一起创造了这次奇迹的新加坡队总教练刘国栋赛后接受了采访。
问：对明天的这场决赛怎么看？
刘国栋：今天这场半决赛我们已经是当成决赛了，因为我觉得我们没法去跟中国队抗衡。
问：评价一下现在中国队的几名队员？
刘国栋：中国五名队员都是世界上最优秀的运动员，跟她们打肯定会出现一边倒的情况，所以中国队还是会拿冠军。
问：明天的比赛您会给队员做什么样的准备？
刘国栋：首先，拿到银牌对于我们来说跟中国队拿到金牌是一样的，我们拿银牌比中国队拿金牌还难得多。因为其实我们跟很多对手都是五五开的球，虽然现在我们的队员状态非常好，但是我们还没有达到那种跟其他队打都能占据上风的程度。这次比赛能够打到现在这种程度，是因为我们的队员在比赛中心态控制得很不错。我觉得今天的比赛中表现最好的应该说是冯天薇，因为前三次交手她都是输给福原爱的，今天她能够赢回来，对她也是一种突破。
问：觉得跟中国打的胜算是多少？
刘国栋：百分之一吧。
问：评价一下这世乒赛老队员的斗志。
刘国栋：来之前，包括李佳薇，王越古她们两个人的状态都不是特别好，冯天薇的状态还是一直不错。在这个比赛里面她们的意志品质还是不错，像李佳薇第一局输了，两个队员都处理非常好。像王越古，她在亚洲杯的时候曾经输过这个队员(石川佳纯)，相对来说我们心态并不占上风。她们把一号主力福原爱放在三号位置上打，她们的这种阵容就是针对着我们的名单去排一样。
问：接下来有什么样的备战计划？
刘国栋：接下来的比赛我们最主要的目标是奥运会，奥运会就拿一块奖牌就好了。越是这样难度越大，每个队都在分析我们，包括日本队今天的排兵布阵也是很有针对性的。
问：海外兵团限制令已经通过了，您对这个事情怎么看？
刘国栋：对乒乓球本身来说是个好事情，但对乒乓球的观赏性来说可能要差一些，实力相差会非常大，你看在世界前八名里面中国选手机会占据一大半，但从观赏性来看没有什么跟中国队抗衡的，以后可能中国拿冠军还会更轻松一些。有这个规则出来了，其实还是限制不了，只是限制了19岁以上的选手，也就是说不让你老队员，但是年轻选手还是照样引进。
问：新加坡队的奥运会目标是什么？
刘国栋：最主要就是女团奖牌，最大的对手非常多，至少有7-8个，女孩的球跟男孩不一样，会感觉特别有信心或者突然一下很无助，你看女队爆冷的可能性很大。
问：这七八个对手中实力最强的是？
刘国栋：中国香港，韩国和日本。韩国这次一号和二号选手都没来，美国、甚至朝鲜都跟我们都差不多，只是我们这次发挥得更好一些，世界排名也在前面，抽签给我们更多的时间以备战后面的比赛。
问：与中国队的决赛，心理上的目标是赢多少局？
刘国栋：比分可能没什么，我觉得只要尽量给观众一场非常精彩的比赛就行了。

新加坡女团3-0灭日本 李佳薇双胜将与中国争冠
 北京时间2月29日，第49届世乒赛团体赛进入第六天的争夺，在下午进行的另一场女团半决赛中，新加坡凭借李佳薇、王越古和冯天薇的三场胜利以3-0击败日本队，挺进决赛。决赛中，新加坡队将和中国队一决高下。
本次比赛中，日本男女队都发挥的都非常出色，进入4强也是提前完成了比赛任务。与新加坡一战，日本队在排兵布 阵上是绞尽了脑汁，小将石川佳纯出人意料的顶替了福原爱出任第一单打，志在以奇兵取胜。新加坡的出场阵容则依 然是李佳薇、王越古和冯天薇。
石川佳纯0-3王越古
15岁的小将石川佳纯世界排名只有143位，而她今天面对的是新加坡队世界排名第6位的王越古。一上来，王越古就以 4-0先声夺人，不过，石川佳纯很快就展现出了惊人的潜力，逐渐把比分追平了。在双方战成10比10平后，王越古才 凭借丰富的经验以12-10拿下首局。
第二局，石川佳纯继续紧紧咬住王越古，而直到8比8后，王越古才逐渐拉开了差距，石川佳纯在比赛经验上的欠缺制 约了她在关键时刻的发挥，本局她再以9-11遗憾的丢掉。
两局在手后，王越古才逐渐掌握住了场上的主动，11-4，王越古再胜一局，以总比分3-0帮助新加坡队拿下第一分。
平野早矢香1-3李佳薇
第二场比赛由日本队的平野早矢香挑战新加坡一号单打李佳薇。第一局，平野早矢香一上来就非常积极，拼得很凶， 而李佳薇则在场上迟迟找不到状态，出现了很多无谓失误，被平野早矢香抓住机会以11-6先下一局。丢掉一局后，李 佳薇这才有所警醒，第二局第三局，李佳薇在一度十分危急的情况下还是以11-7和13-11拿下。第四局，李佳薇已经 完全打开了，在5-2领先的情况下李佳薇充分发挥了前三板的威性，再以11-8拿下，这样，新加坡在总比分就已经2-0 领先了。
福原爱0-3冯天薇
在之前与冯天薇的交锋中，福原爱的胜率要大一些，因此今天日本队也是特意安排福原爱来拿分。不过，比赛的过程 却出乎了日本队的意料，从一上来，冯天薇就充分展现出了相持能力好的特点，让福原爱在场上非常被动，很快，冯天薇就以11-8和11-5连下两局。第三局，福原爱只能在比赛中进行最后一博，尽管她一度把双方的比分缩近，但最后冯天薇还是凭借稳定的发挥以11-8击败对手，进军到决赛。

World Team Table Tennis Championships 2008 - Singapore in Harmony as Final Place is Booked in Guangzhou
 Singapore hit top form in the early evening of Friday 29th February 2008 to book their place in the final of the Women's Team event at the Evergrande World Team Championships in Guangzhou. At the penultimate stage they rose to the occasion to overcome Japan by three matches to nil.It was a hard fought duel with the Singapore trio of Wang Yue Gu, Li Jia Wei and Feng Tianwei always having the vital edge on their opponents. In a quick-fire contest Wang Yue Gu beat Kasumi Ishikawa, Li Jia Wei inflicted the first defeat of the whole tournament on Sayaka Hirano and Feng Tianwei underlined her consistent improvement with a most professional victory over Ai Fulkuhara. Player selection was the interesting factor for the Japanese Women's Team; six months ago, I'm sure if they had played it would have been different. Haruna Fukuoka would no doubt have been included in the line up; her record against Li Jia Wei prior to the China Mobile Asian Championships in Yangzhou in September 2007 had been exemplary. Li Jia Wei had experienced a host of problems against the close to the table blocking style of Haruna Fukuoka; the long pimples on the backhand upsetting the rhythm of the Singaporean. However, at the China Mobile Asian Championships, Li Jia Wei beat Haruna Fukuoka for the first time in her career and she won easily; since then there has been a total change. It has been Li Jia Wei who has been in command. No place in the Japanese line up for Haruna Fukuoka but there was for fifteen year old Kasumi Ishikawa. She was the surprise choice of Kinji Kondo, the Japanese Women's Team Head Coach, to start proceedings against Singapore. Or was it such a surprise choice? Kasumi Ishikawa is only fifteen years old; well she is only just fifteen years old. She celebrated her birthday on 23rd February the day before the Evergrande World Team Championships started in Guangzhou and she had played Wang Yue Gu previously. The occasion was the Hanoi Television sponsored Asian Cup in Vietnam in November 2007 when Kasumi Ishikawa finished in a highly creditable third place, beating Wang Yue Gu in five games en route to the medal podium.Not OverawedIn Guangzhou, Kasumi Ishikawa was not overawed by the occasion. She matched Wang Yue Gu blow for blow; a variety of high thrown services deep into the backhand of Wang Yue Gu then a fast attack wide to the forehand of her adversary was the chosen tactic time and again.  Perhaps she strained that little too hard at the crucial times; she lost the first two games by the very narrowest of margins. In the third, she played with a degree more caution; forehand topspins deep into the backhand of Wang Yue Gu brought success. However, when rallies developed, Wang Yue Gu was in her element and at 8-4 ahead in the third game appeared a few degrees more relaxed; she played more fluently. Kasumi Ishikawa never surrendered but into trying to play strongly on the first attack after the services she made mistakes.It was success for Wang Yue Gu, it was first blood to Singapore. Next into the arena came Sayaka Hirano and Li Jia Wei; fast counterattacking play was the order of matters with the first game going to Japan, the next to Jia Wei. The latter was clearly under instructions to topspin the ball heavily from her backhand into the backhand of Sayaka Hirano to nullify the speed of the returns. Li Jia Wei established a 10-8 lead in third game, Singapore coach Liu Guodong called Time Out. The players returned, Sayaka Hirano won the next three points to lead 11-10 but then Li Jia Wei responded, she won the next three to move one game ahead.SupportA group of Japanese fans with inflated clappers chanted liso Sayaka mo ippon, lizo, lizo Sayaka. Well done, well done Sayaka, one more point, well done, well done Sayaka. The close win had clearly given Li Jia Wei confidence; in the fourth game she played her best table tennis so far in the tournament. She went ahead 5-2, causing the Japanese camp to call Time Out. Tactically she played in a very astute manner, a controlled first topspin into the backhand of her opponent and then a fast attack. She moved into an 8-2 lead, she reduced the arrears to 8-6 as Li Jia Wei became somewhat passive but the mountain was too high to climb. Li Jia Wei won the game 11-8 and Singapore had breathing space. The momentum was now with Singapore; Feng Tianwei was outstanding. She did not give Ai Fukuhara time to breathe.Credit to the Japanese player she fought tooth and nail but Feng Tianwei always held the upper hand.She won in three straight games and thus guided Singapore into the final; it from Feng Tianwei and from the whole Singapore team a most impressive performance. World Team Table Tennis Championships 2008 - 9th or 10th Position for Men's Team
 In the play off against Russia today, our paddlers crushed Russia 3-1. In their final match, they will face Austria tomorrow, and the winner will be awarded a 9th position. Against Russia, Gao Ning cruised through the opening match against Kuzmin Fedor, winning 3-0 (11-5, 11-6, 11-8). However, Yang Zi had a hard time. He prevailed 3-2 over Paykov Mikhail. Cai Xiao Li however, was unable to maintain the winning thrend. He lost in straight games to Andrianov Sergei. In the 4th match, Gao Ning continued his good form, and won Paykov Mikhail 3-1.

新加坡女队淘汰“黑马”荷兰 刘国栋：准备比较充分
 广州今晨专电(记者迟昕欣)平均年龄30岁以上的荷兰队在将韩国队挤出八强后，成为广州世乒赛女团的最大黑马。而昨天，新加坡队凭借小将冯天薇的出色表现，拿下荷兰队的一号主力李佼，大振新加坡队的士气，并最终以3比0力克对手晋级四强。赛后新加坡队主教练刘国栋表示：胜利缘自准备充分。 曾经在中国国家队任教的刘国栋从2006年接受新加坡乒协的邀请，出任新加坡女队的主教练。由于新加坡的队员多为原中国选手，刘国栋把自己熟知的中国式训练也带了过去，双方都非常适应。刘国栋透露，在荷兰队与韩国队的比赛打完后，尽管已经晚上11点多了，但新加坡队仍看了录像，对于比赛准备得非常充分。 在第三场比赛中，荷兰队的李洁脚踝受伤退出了比赛，新加坡队锁定胜局，并且历史上第一次打进了世乒赛的四强。刘国栋表示，胜负关键并不在这一场，冯天薇赢了对方的一号主力后，对手已经不行了。他说：“之前我们考虑到了如果0比1落后甚至0比2落后时应该怎么打。但是荷兰队在与韩国队的比赛体力受损，再加上他们的队员年龄较大，因此新加坡队在本场比赛是占据上风的。都说大赛前应该给队员减压，但是我要给队员加压！因为一个战斗力非常强的队伍需要懂得去打硬仗。” （来源：今晚报）

World Team Table Tennis Championships 2008 - Defeats once again for our Men's Team
It was once again defeat for our Men's Team. However, coming this far is already a great achievement. Early on, Singapore faced Spain and our Men's Team won with a 3-1, with only Cai Xiao Li losing straight games to Carneros Alfredo. Yang Zi and Gao Ning won the 1st and 2nd matches respectively. Yang Zi won 3-0 over Duran Marc, while Gao Ning defeated his opponent both with a margin of 3-1. They are Sanchez Victor in the 2nd game and Duran Marc in the 4th game. However, in the 2nd match of the day, Lady Luck was no longer with them. Our Men's Team lost to Czech by a small margin of 3-2. Things wasn't right from the start of the game. Yang Zi lost 1-3 to Korbel Petr. Despite Gao Ning trying to level the score at 1-1 by defeating Pavelka Tomas with the same margin, Cai Xiao Li lost to Simoncik Josef, resulting Czech to have a 2-1 lead over Singapore. Gao Ning levelled the score once again at 2-2, however, Yang Zi was unable to maintain the good form. He lost Pavelka Tomas 3-2, resulting in a overall defeat for our Men's Team. Singapore will now battle it out with Russia, Denmark, Austria for the 9th position.

World Team Table Tennis Championships - Women's Team Achieve Top 4 Positions
 It was a unique game indeed, despite Singapore winning 3-0. Li Jia Wei gave Singapore the perfect start by beating Elena Timina, a player who has endeared herself to the crowd, by falling on the floor, sinking to her knees or performing somersaults at the end of a long point. Li Jia Wei was well aware of the style of play that she may have to face with both Elena Timina and Li Jie being defenders. “I thought I would have to play a backspin player, so before the match I practised against defence”, explained Li Jia Wei. “I was well prepared, I think because I prepared so well, I deserved to win.” It was a tough contest against Elena Timina, it’s always a tough contest against Elena Timina but Li Jia Wei prevailed and she gave Singapore the start that led to victory and of course a semi-final place. A good start for Singapore, Feng Tianwei capitalised on the situation with a five games win over Lia Jiao leaving Wang Yue Gu with the task of completing the job. She did rather more easily than ever anticipated. “I lost the first two games against Li Jiao and then in the third I was down 4-6; it was a real struggle to come back from there”, said Feng Tianwei. “I just tried to play one point at a time, I had to fight myself!” She fought, she recovered and she succeeded. However, it was a sad end to the contest with Wang Yue Gu leading in the opening game 5-3 when Li Jie twisted her ankle. Wang helped Li Jie back to her sit, and both sets of players left the arena quietly. Our female team is now assured of a medal, the colour has to decided.

世界乒乓球团体锦标赛 我女队五战全胜进复赛
 我国女队昨天在广州举行的世界乒乓球团体锦标赛中，以小组赛五战全胜的佳绩，打进女团复赛，肯定取得优于上届的成绩，而男队在小组赛中，败给香港，首尝败绩。 在最后一轮小组赛中，我国女队虽收起首号女将王越古和冯天薇，没有派出最强阵容应战，但还是以3比0轻取乌克兰。
这是一场实力悬殊的比赛,孙蓓蓓以12比10、10比12、11比5、11比8击败泰佳娜·索罗钦斯卡亚，李佳薇以11比8、12比10、11比8战胜玛加丽塔，于梦雨以11比5、11比6、11比3挫败泰佳娜·特卡乔娃，为新加坡取得压倒性的胜利。
我国女队以B组盟主的身份，直接进入八强之林，肯定取得比上届第九名更好的排名。我国女队的最佳成绩，是在2001年世乒赛获得的联合第五名。 新加坡女队今天将与荷兰争夺半决赛席位，其他的女团复赛对垒形势为中国对罗马尼亚、香港对奥地利，以及日本对匈牙利。
我国国家队教练刘国栋受访时说：“我们对垒荷兰的复赛是一场生死战，但我们必须为可能面对的困难，做好准备。
“不过，荷兰三名球员的状态非常好，技术和状态也不错，加上有两名前中国球员，整体实力不错。或许其他人会看好我们胜出，但我认为，我们获胜的几率是五成。”
我男队不敌香港
力求下一仗取胜
新加坡男队昨天以1比3不敌香港，目前在男团D组排名第二，仅排在香港之后。
我国次号男将杨子以8比11、11比9、9比11、11比1、7比11输给唐鹏，但高宁却以8比11、11比4、11比4、11比7击败李静，把比分追成1比1。
由于实力上的差距，新加坡还是输掉了接下来两分。蔡晓黎以7比11、9比11、6比11败给高礼泽，高宁最后以7比11、3比11、11比7、8比11不敌唐鹏。
刘国栋说：“我队整体实力不如香港，所以败下阵来。我们明天必须打胜仗，希望有机会成为小组盟主，直接进入八强。”
我国男队将在今天最后一轮比赛中，力求拿下西班牙，同时祈求香港败给白俄罗斯，才能以小组盟主身份出线，直接进入复赛。
新加坡与香港虽同获3胜1负的战绩，但新加坡败给香港，因此只能排在D组第二，香港暂列第一。要是香港今天获胜，即使新加坡报捷，也只能以副盟主出线，并且必须参加16强赛，争夺复赛资格。 （《联合早报》编辑：黄秀茱）

World Team Table Tennis Championships 2008 - Men's Team 1st Defeat!
 In men’s action this aftrnoon, 4th seeded Singapore were upset 3-1 5th seeded Hong Kong.
In the first match, it was a point-by-point scrap as Yang Zi and Tang Peng battled it out. After four sets of the match, the score held draw at 2-2. At the crucial moment, Tang Peng proved to be the stronger opponent. He kept his nerve and won 11-7.
Gao Ning had a much easier game as compared to Yang Zi. He got Singapore back on track by defeating Li Ching with a score of 3-1.
Ko Lai Chak however, put Hong Kong 2-1 up by beating Cai Xiaoli in straight sets.
Tang Peng returned, clinching the winning point for Hong Kong in the reverse singles when he beat Gao Ning 3-1 (11-7, 11-3, 7-11, 11-8).

World Team Table Tennis Championships - Bench-Warmers no more
 Sun Bei Bei and Yu Meng Yu, having to sit by the side of the game for the past 3 days, was finally given the chance to play. In the last group match against Ukraine, our female paddlers won once again with a 3-0. In the first match against Sorochinskaya Tetyana, Sun Bei Bei crushed her 3-1, assisting Singapore in winning the opening round. Li Jia Wei continued the good form by eliminating Pesotska Margaryta in stright games. Yu Meng Yu, playing the third singles, ousted Tkachova Tetyana out, helping Singapore to secure a 3-0 win! Despite not given the chance to play in the first 4 matches, Bei Bei and Meng Yu seized the chance and performed up to expectation. And with a all win in the group match, and being 1st in the group, Singapore has auto qualified for the top 8 positions. Our female paddlers will most likely meet the Koreans in the Quarter Finals.

刘国栋对男队的表现感到满意。他说：“虽然高宁在比赛中遇到希腊首号球员伊奥尼斯的顽抗，但新加坡男队的表现确实不错，拿下这次比赛的第三场胜利。伊奥尼斯在失掉第一局后，加快进攻的节奏，让高宁陷入困境，但高宁最终还是顶住对手的猛烈攻势，为新加坡拿下第二分。”

World Team TableTennis Championships 2008 - Female Paddlers qualify for Top 8!
 Our team made up of Li Jia Wei, Wang Yue Gu and Feng Tian Wei secured a 3-0 win over Hungary. And with 4 wins in 4 games, our paddlers has qualified for the Top 8 knock-out stage. In the opening round, Li Jia Wei defeated Lovas Petra, allowing her to win only 13 points in the whole 3 games. Li won 3-0 (11-7, 11-2, 11-3). Next, Feng Tian Wei defeated their top seed, Pota Georgina by the same margin. Then, Wang Yue Gu took the last match with yet another 3-0 win over Li Bin, 11-1, 11-8, 11-9. And with such beautiful results, our female team has achieved the top place in the Championship Division, Group B. They will have to take on Ukraine tmorrow, before they officially qualify for the 2nd Stage. |

World Team Table Tennis Championships 2008 - Good Form Continues for the Men's Team
 Our Men's Team continued their good form today, winning Greece yet another 3-0. In the first match, Yang Zi took on Papageorgiou Konstantinos n straight games, winning 11-3, 11-6, 11-9. Next, Gao Ning took on their Top Seed, Gionis Panagiotis. Despite falling behind in the scores, Gao held his nerves and won with much difficulty. He won 11-5, 10-12, 9-11, 11-8, 11-4. In the 3rd match, Cai Xiao Li took on Riniotis Anastasios and Cai won 3-1. With this score, our Men's Team are leading in the group, with Hong Kong following closely behind.

世界乒乓球团体锦标赛 杨子力擒萨姆索诺夫 我男队轻取白俄罗斯
 我国次号男将杨子发挥出色，爆冷击败世界第六号好手萨姆索诺夫，成功带领新加坡男队昨天在中国广州举行的世界乒乓球团体锦标赛上，以3比0轻取D组对手白俄罗斯，取得小组赛二连胜。
新加坡女队也击败台湾和罗马尼亚，在女团B组累积了三场胜利。
我国国家队教练刘国栋受访时说：“我完全没想到男队可以轻松击败白俄罗斯，我们原本只是担心小组几队最后要是都获得相同战绩，可能要计算小分，因此我们很看重每一分。
“不过，萨姆索诺夫对垒左手球员一向都比较差，加上杨子的状态非常好，高宁打得比昨天好，蔡晓黎也有超水平发挥，所以我们以3比0赢了。”
我国首号男将高宁率先出场，他以11比9、11比4、11比9轻取内赫韦多维奇，为新加坡拔下头筹。“左手将军”杨子接着以11比9、11比7、14比16、11比7，拿下两届世界杯冠军萨姆索诺夫。
蔡晓黎最后以11比3、5比11、12比10、6比11、11比6意外险胜水平较高的奇切季尼内，结束了这场对决。
我国女队分别以3比0轻取台湾和罗马尼亚，大大提高了出线的机会。
在对垒台湾的比赛中，小将冯天薇以11比6、11比5、11比6击败黄怡桦，世界排名第八的李佳薇以11比9、8比11、11比9、11比5战胜陆云凤，我国首号女将王越古以11比9、11比7、11比6挫败郑怡静。
世界排名第六的王越古接着以11比9、11比7、12比10拿下罗马尼亚首号选手达妮埃拉，李佳薇以11比8、11比4、11比8击败伊利莎白，冯天薇以11比9、11比8、11比6战胜克里斯蒂娜。
我国男队今天对垒希腊，女队的对手是匈牙利。刘国栋说：“女队明天对垒匈牙利是非常关键的比赛，因为我们这一组应该是我们和匈牙利争盟主。为了在第二阶段避开包括中国在内的其他小组盟主，我们必须抢下盟主之位。”
新加坡在两年前的上届赛会上，获得女团第九名和男团第28名。我国的世乒赛最佳成绩是女团联合第五名和男团第九名。
另一方面，名将王楠虽败北，但中国还是在女团A组赛中，以3比1击败“神秘军团”朝鲜。

Singapore Youth Olympics - Local Talents will Represent the State
 Singapore Table Tennis Association (STTA) has come up with a new plan in better preparing our young in the Youth Olympics. STTA explained that they will be selecting the promising young paddlers from the currently 20 National Training Team youths. After the selection, these paddlers will undergo intensive training and be sent overseas for competition to gain more exposure. STTA has no intention to use foreign talents such as paddlers from China to participate in the Youth Olympics. There are 3 events, namely the Boys' Singles, Girls' Singles and Mixed Team events. However, Pang Xue Jie will miss his chance of participating in the Youth Olympics as only those aged 14 to 16 are allowed to take part. Each NOC is allowed to send up to 2 participatants, 1 male, 1 female. Currently, the 2 most promising paddlers to be selected are Lim Jie Yan and Li Siyun Isabelle.

限制“海外兵团”提案震动世乒赛场 引起巨大争议
 不久前，国际乒联将在本届世乒赛期间讨论限制“海外兵团”的消息传出，不啻在赛场扔了一颗“炸弹”。正忙于赛事的一些官员、教练、运动员，包括“海外兵团”在比赛期间纷纷发出不同的声音，争议颇多。
国际乒联新闻执行官迈德森透露，国际乒联初步的设想是：21周岁以上更改国籍的运动员，将不能参加世锦赛和世界杯赛；21岁以下更改国籍的运动员，则在入籍后等待若干年，方可获得参加上述大赛的资格。
“不可能(通过)，这是犯罪！要是真的通过了，一定要告他们(国际乒联)！” 世乒赛首日，听说此消息，本来很平静的前中国选手吉田海伟情绪变得激动。他说，“‘海外兵团’多不容易啊！国内机会那么少，(出去)还不是为了生计！”只能打俱乐部比赛，对“海外兵团”就意味着死路一条。
据了解，吉田海伟又叫宋海伟，河北正定人，祖籍河北辛集，从小在河北正定学球，曾是中国河北陆通俱乐部队的球员。1997年，15的宋海伟来到日本打球，2004年3月加入日本籍，改名为吉田海伟，目前是日本第三号种子选手、世界排名第51位。
“国内机会太少，一切为了生计。”去年年底的“好运北京”乒乓球测试赛上，现在新加坡的女乒头号选手李佳薇就说过类似的话。
中国乒乓球基础雄厚，高手众多，但能代表中国队打比赛的只有那么几个，远走海外就成了从小打球的孩子们很重要的谋生手段。有人统计，30年时间里，中国乒协所属选手的足迹已遍布全世界，亚洲、欧洲、非洲、北美和南美，且均是所在协会的“一哥”、“一姐”。
6岁开始打球的李佳薇现在是新加坡队的头号女子选手，而留在中国，参加奥运会可能只会是梦想；马琳的老乡、现在代表日本打比赛的韩阳至今连日语都不会说，但在世界排名前三的王皓、王励勤、马琳为谁能直通北京奥运而征战时，他早已稳拿入场券安心备战了。
目前代表美国队打比赛的高军也称该措施短期内对乒乓球的发展并不利，即便她本人并不会受到影响。
高军表示，如果没有“海外兵团”，其他队伍就更难对抗中国队，“怎么打都是中国队赢，打着打着其他国家的球员就不会有兴趣了，这对乒乓球的发展并不好。” 此次参赛的美国队5名女队员中，4人均为“海外兵团”成员。
不过，也有选手对此提议表示支持。白俄罗斯选手萨姆索诺夫说：“一些在中国不算很强的选手到国外去打球，他们的能力比当地人强，这自然会阻碍当地对青少年人才的培养。从乒乓球运动的长远发展看，这肯定是不好的。”
中国女队教练施之皓则认为，“海外兵团”人数增多并不一定是坏事，对中国队也构不成决定性的影响，毕竟最顶尖的高手都在中国队内。
国际乒联前主席、《乒乓世界》杂志社主编徐寅生更愿意把“海外兵团”称作“海外使团”，“他们到别的国家去打球，的确推动了一些协会的发展，有些甚至起到了立竿见影的效果。但这也造成一个弊端，有的协会贪图走这条‘捷径’，忽视了对本国选手的培养”。
“看，到处都是中国人！”国际乒联新闻执行官迈德森说，“国际乒联是该做些什么了。”
据国际乒联官员介绍，目前，要求限制“海外兵团”过度发展的提案已由瑞士等乒乓球协会向国际乒联提出。对此，国际乒联主席沙拉拉持肯定态度。他多次举过的一个例子是，在2007年的女子世界杯上，16名选手中，有13个是中国人，“这使比赛的观赏性大大降低”。
27日国际乒联大会上将就此提案进行表决。国际乒联新闻执行官迈德森持谨慎态度，认为“提案有法律漏洞”。
某圈内人士认为，提案最要命的“漏洞”是剥夺了“海外兵团”工作的权利，一旦实施，官司很多。不过，“就算被通过，对现在打球的海外球员也会网开一面，老人老办法，新人新办法，”该人士说。

新加坡女团3-0横扫罗马尼亚 小组晋级前景光明
 搜狐体育讯 北京时间2月25日，第49届世乒赛进入第二天的争夺。在下午结束的女团小组赛中，B组第三轮展开较量，结果新加坡女队以3-0横扫罗马尼亚队，
此前新加坡队以3-1胜波兰，又以3-0击败中国台北。而罗马尼亚则0-3不敌匈牙利，3-2胜中华台北。新加坡队担任第一单打的是王越古，而罗马尼亚则派出杜迪安。王越古打法怪异，右手横拍正手反胶，反手生胶快攻结合弧圈的打法让对手有点摸不着头脑，尽管杜迪安技术也比较全面，但是今天面对王越古还是十分别扭。结果她连续以9-11、7-11、10-12输掉了比赛。
新加坡队第二个出场的是李佳薇，和她对阵的是萨马拉，后者现世界排名第83，远远落后于李佳薇的第8名。而比赛的进程也印证了双方实力上的差距，李佳薇分别以11-8、11-4、11-8连下3城，为新加坡队拿下了第二场胜利。
连续拿下两场比赛，令新加坡队士气大振，出任第三单打的冯天薇没有给对方的希瑞琪任何机会，依然是一个3-0，冯天薇连续以11-9、11-8、11-6拿下比赛，新加坡女队顺利赢得比赛，比一台之隔的中国女队和克罗地亚的比赛结束时间还要早。

 Despite having to play two matches today, our female paddlers did not sure a sign of tiredness. The two matches, both fielded Li Jia Wei, Wang Yue Gu and Feng Tian Wei, beat their opponents - Chinese Taipei and Romania in straight games. Against Chinese Taipei, our paddlers took only 2 hours. Feng Tian Wei beat their top seed Huang I-Hwa with a convincing 3-0 win. After which, Li Jia Wei defeated Lu Yun-Feng 3-1, (11-9, 8-11, 11-9, 11-5). Wang Yue Gu eased through her game beating Cheng I-Ching in straight games, securing a 3-0 win against Chinese Taipei. Their next match against the Romanians were just as exciting. In the opening match, World Ranked no. 6, Wang Yue Gu defeated Dodean Daniela in straight. In the 2nd and 3rd match played by Li Jia Wei and Feng Tian Wei respectively, they each beat their opponents with the same margin. And with this win, Singapore has attained a total of 6 points together with Hungary. Our female paddlers will face Hungary in tomorrow's match.

 Our Men's Team once again did us proud by sweeping Belarus 3-0. First up, Gao Ning faced Nekhvedovich Vitaly and he defeated him easily with a score of 3-0. In the 2nd match, World Ranked no. 23rd Yang Zi beat Samsonov Vladimir who is currently ranked 6 in the World in 4 games, 11-9, 11-7, 14-16, 11-7. However, Cai Xiao Li faced a little trouble with Chtchetinine Evgueni, Cai won with much difficulty. He won 11-3, 5-11, 12-10, 6-11, 11-6. And with this win, our Men's Team achieve a 4 point lead together with 5th Seeded Hong Kong. Singapore will meet Greece tomorrow at 1630pm.

 我国国家男女队昨天在中国广州开打的第49届世界乒乓球团体锦标赛上，双双在第一轮的小组赛中战胜欧洲对手，取得开门红。
新加坡男队以3比1击败D组对手丹麦，女队以同样比分战胜同在B组的波兰。不过，新加坡次号女将李佳薇却意外不敌波兰残疾运动员纳塔利娅，爆出大冷门。
我国首号男将高宁昨天虽状态不佳，但仍独取两分，而首次挑大梁的小将冯天薇也为女队进账两分。
新加坡国家队教练刘国栋受访时说：“高宁和蔡晓黎今天都不在最佳状态。高宁在第四场第五局一度还以7比9落后，要是他输掉了这场，杨子最后一仗对垒丹麦第一号球员梅兹，胜负难料。”
刘国栋也为女队摆出的怪阵作出解释。他说：“李佳薇从来没有被安排在第三号的位置上，我们这样做是为了让排阵更灵活，方便在接下来碰到强队时，能以排阵智取对方。
“我们女队的实力相当平均，轮着打也可以让球员有足够的时间休息，毕竟这次比赛要一连打八九天。”
代表我国男队首先出场的杨子以11比5、11比8、11比4轻取特格韦尔，世界排名第10的高宁接着以14比12、11比8、11比9挫败丹麦首号球员梅兹，为新加坡建立了2比0的优势。
不过，蔡晓黎这时却以三局都是7比11的比数意外败给世界排名比他低272名次的19岁小将斯滕伯格，让丹麦扳回一城。幸好高宁最后以8比11、11比8、11比8、9比11、13比11险胜特格韦尔，助新加坡获得胜利。
我国首号女将王越古以11比7、11比6、7比11、11比9拿下波兰首号球员李倩，毫无大赛经验的冯天薇以11比6、11比9、11比8轻取徐洁，新加坡以2比0领先。
左手执拍的19岁小将纳塔利娅这时以11比7、11比4、6比11、8比11、11比7爆冷挫败世界排名第八的李佳薇，助波兰取得零的突破。纳塔利娅的右手虽有缺陷，但她正常和残疾级别的比赛都参加，而且是2004年残疾奥运会冠军，目前世界排名第182。
冯天薇最后以11比8、11比6、7比11、12比10战胜李倩，结束了比赛。
我国男队将在今天的第二场小组赛中，硬碰由欧洲名将萨姆索诺夫坐镇的白俄罗斯，而女队则与台湾和罗马尼亚过招。
刘国栋坦承，男队面对白俄罗斯时胜算较低。他说：“白俄罗斯有世界排名第六的萨姆索诺夫，我们虽处于下风，但也不是没有机会的。”
不过，萨姆索诺夫昨天意外败北，导致白俄罗斯以2比3败给实力一般的希腊，令人大跌眼镜。

World Team Table Tennis Championships 2008 - Women's Team Results (24/2)
 Our female paddlers defeated Poland with a score of 3-1. In the first game, Wang Yue Gu defeated Poland's Li Qian with a score of 3-1. After which, Feng Tian Wei overcame Xu Jie in straight games. She won 11-6, 11-9, 11-8. However, Li Jia Wei faced much difficulty. Throughout the game, Jia Wei was unable to find her form. Natalia Partyka won the first two games against a below par, Li Jia Wei; however, the Singaporean then stepped up a gear and in the third and fourth games played at a level befitting her world ranking. Furthermore, matters seemed to be going her way in the decisive fifth game as she won a fluke point to move into a 7-5 lead; a high lobbed return from Li Jia Wei bounced cruelly at the Poland's side of the table, forcing Natalia Partyka to smile in desperation as she missed the ball. However, the incident did not affect Natalia Partyka. She won the next six points and Poland celebrated. Alas, for the European country it was to be their only win in their Championship Group B Women's match against Singapore. Feng Tianwei ended matters with a four games win over Li Qian.

World Team Table Tennis Championships 2008 - Men's Team Results (24/2)
 Gao Ning did Singapore proud by winning 2 matches to help Singapore secure victory over Denmark. In the first match against Tugwell Finn, Yang Zi defeated him with ease with the score of 3-0 (11-5, 11-8, 11-4). Gao Ning faced no problem either. He beat Maze Michael by the same margin (14-12, 11-8, 11-9). However, it was a straight game defeat for Cai Xiao Li. Against Sternberg Kasper, Cai Xiao Li lost with 7-11 in all 3 games. Once again, Gao Ning is fielded but this time, against Tugwell Finn. Gao Ning faced some problems, however he still won by a small margin of 3-2. Singapore will take on Belarus tomorrow at 1300hours.

世乒赛广州开拍在即 中国女乒强敌锁定新加坡
 没有人怀疑，强大的中国女团能否连续第九次捧起考比伦杯。从观众到队员再到教练组，本次广州世乒赛的重点都不外乎探究对手情况以及考核队内各人状态。因为相比没有悬念的世乒赛团体比赛，北京奥运会的竞争才是主题。现在，世乒赛尚未挥拍，五朵金花还有待一试身手，但中国女乒的劲敌已然显山露水。
王楠与郭焱，张怡宁与范瑛，李晓霞与饶静文……今天下午，中国女乒在广州世乒赛场馆的副馆进行适应性训练。范瑛代表着韩国、朝鲜女将为主的削球打法，饶静文右手横板快攻结合弧圈则颇似中国香港选手姜华珺和帖雅娜，范、饶二人也正是因为各自的特殊打法曾在去年入选过中国女队单项世乒赛的阵容。惟有站在郭跃对面的是一张生面孔，“这是周芳芳，是一周前刚从广东队调上来的。”施之皓指着那位新人说，找她来就是为了模仿新加坡选手李佳薇的打法。从地方队调来陪练，国乒对李佳薇的重视程度由此可见一斑。
其实，整支新加坡队正是中国女乒卫冕的最大障碍。除李佳薇外，她们还拥有王越古等几位前中国籍选手，球队实力平均且近年来上升势头迅猛，2006年的多哈亚运会和去年亚锦赛上都打进决赛最终位列亚军，给中国队制造了很大的麻烦。多次在重要赛事上击败过王楠和张怡宁的李佳薇更是堪称海外兵团的代表人物。而去年初加入新加坡籍的小将王越古也在一系列大赛中有不俗表现，亚锦赛团体决赛上险些为新加坡队拿下一分，目前的世界排名同在前十行列。第三单打孙蓓蓓则是个关键时刻屡立战功奇兵。可以说，新加坡队是中国队和中国香港队之外，最有望闯入决赛的球队。

Asian Table Tennis Olympic Qualification - Player List
 Cai Xiao Li will be Singapore's only representative for the Asian Table Tennis Olympic Qualification Tournament. Throughout the 4 day competition, 7 male and 7 female will be selected to partcipate in the Beijing Olympic. China will be fielding her strongest players - Wang Li Qin in the Men's Singles and Wang Nan in the Women's Singles. Other players to note in the Men's Singles Competition are Hong Kong's Chueng Yuk, Japan's Mizutani Jun and Kishikawa Seiya, South Korea's Yoon Jae Young, Vietnam's Nguyen Nam, and the 3 players from North Korea. In the Female couterpart, Hong Kong's Zhang Rui, North Korea Kim Jong and Kim Mi Yong, Malaysia's Beh Lee Wei, Chinese Taipei's Huang-I-Hwa as well as Ex-China National Team Player, 29 year old, Korea's Dang Ye Seo are strong contenders for the 7 places. 世乒赛之新加坡女队：李佳薇压阵，刘国栋注精髓
 北京时间2月24日，第49届世乒赛团体赛将在广州拉开战幕，作为北京奥运会前的最后一次乒乓球世界顶级赛事，各支球队也在厉兵秣马的同时试探着对手，而细数中国女队的几大对手，由刘国栋领衔的新加坡女队格外引人注目，这支队伍不仅云集了多位曾在中国国内效力的优秀选手，更重要的是，平均的实力让球队在去年一系列比赛中的表现都非常突出。
作为新加坡女乒的代表人物，李佳薇目前世界排名第8，扎实的基本功帮助李佳薇在新加坡获得了更广阔的空间，2004年奥运会李佳薇淘汰了中国老将王楠，获得第四名，这也是新加坡运动员在奥运会女单比赛中取得的最好成绩之一。几年间，通过世界杯、亚洲杯上等多项比赛，李佳薇已经成为了新加坡队技术最全面、比赛经验最丰富的头号女单，2007年，她在中国教练刘国栋的点拨下，实力更上一层，在其所参加的50场职业比赛中，李佳薇的胜率达到了70%以上，虽然在与中国选手的对决中，李佳薇胜少负多，但在与其他选手的比赛中，李佳薇的表现还是比较稳定。在去年9月的亚乒赛上，李佳薇率领新加坡队再次打进了决赛，继多哈亚运会创纪录的获得银牌后，新加坡队再次在亚洲乒坛确立起了自己的位置。
 2007年初，前国手王越古正式加入新加坡国籍，这也使得新加坡队的整体实力再次得到提升。团体赛中，王越古稳定的状态在很大程度上分担了李佳薇的压力，同时，作为新加坡"海外兵团"队员里来头最大的一个，王越古在去年的表现也是可圈可点，特别是在年底的大王者杯赛中，王越古还在女单比赛中战胜了李佳薇，使得新加坡一姐之争更加激烈。双打方面，王越古与李佳薇的组合也在逐步成熟，在07年的一系列世界职业巡回赛上，王越古与李佳薇也多次有上佳表现。目前，王越古的世界排名是第6位，仅跟在中国选手张怡宁、王楠、郭焱、郭跃后，也是海外乒团中世界排名最高的选手，在拥有了两位世界排名在前10之内的悍将后，新加坡女队也成为了为数不多的敢向中国队挑战的队伍。
 除了李佳薇和王越古两位大将，新加坡三号单打的实力也不俗，来自山东的孙蓓蓓曾在06年多哈亚运会上一鸣惊人，在决胜局先输两局的情况下，孙蓓蓓最终扭转战胜朝鲜队，帮助新加坡在亚运会上获得了一枚宝贵的银牌。2007年，孙蓓蓓先后参加了多场国际大赛，临场经验有所提高，世界排名也因此上升到了第14位。
虽然在整体实力上还不足以与中国队抗衡，但抱着冲击态度的新加坡队已经俨然成为了中国队在本次世乒赛以及奥运会上的最大对手。在刘国栋入主之后，新加坡女队在技术上、精神面貌上有了全新的变化，而为了在今年奥运会上有所突破，新加坡对乒乓球女团的关注也是达到了空前的高度，一旦对手在比赛中出现意外，新加坡队很有希望重新改写历史。

World Team Table Tennis Championships 2008 - Tan Paey Fern replaced by Feng Tian Wei
 The Singapore Table Tennis Association sent out a new list of players who will be competing in the World Team Table Tennis Championships, replacing World Ranked no. 87, Tan Paey Fern, with the newly Olympic Qualified Feng Tian Wei. The Female's team will now comprise of Li Jia Wei, Wang Yue Gu, Sun Bei Bei, Yu Meng Yu and Feng Tian Wei. The Men's Team remain unchanged, which includes Gao Ning, Yang Zi, Cai Xiao Li, Wong Hong Wei Daniel and Pang Xue Jie.

South East Asia Table Tennis Olympic Qualification 2008 - Feng Tian Wei Qualify for Beijing Olympics!
 After a grueling two-day tournament, Singapore Feng Tianwei defeated Thailand's Komwong Nanthana. Despite her strong backhand, Feng had a relatively easy match and took her opponent down easily by 4-1 in the finals. And with this result Feng Tian Wei has qualified for the Olympics and will replace Sun Bei Bei to represent Singapore as the 3rd Women's Singles. However, it was defeat for Cai Xiao Li. He lost to Thailand's Sanguansin Phuchang in a gruelling 7 game encounter. Xiao Li will be playing in the Asian Qualifying Tournament in March to get another chance of representing Singapore in the Olympics.

South East Asia Table Tennis Olympic Qualification 2008 - Xiao Li did Singapore proud
 It was a fantastic day for our paddlers at the South East Asia Table Tennis Olympic Qualification 2008. Cai Xiaoli did Singapore proud today. In his first match against Sanguansin Phakpoom, he faced some difficult with the fast attacks from the Thailand player. Xiaoli had problems getting a good rhythm in the game. Also, Xiaoli was also unable to return Phakpoom's powerful bottom-spin serves, all of which contributed to Xiaoli's lost in the first game. Despite that, the atmosphere was filled with cheers from the audiences and shouts of "Jia You" from his fellow teammates. In the following games, Xiaoli played with renewed vigour. One particular long rally saw both players playing conservatively, waiting for the other to make the mistake. It was a game of perserverence and concentration. In the end, Xiaoli prevailed and scored that crucial point to win the game. Not to be deterred, Phakpoom stormed through the 4th game with his trademark quick attacks and bottom-spinned services. Xiaoli triumphed in the final game at (4-11, 13-11, 11-9, 9-11, 11-7) as Phakpoom started to make mistakes in the face of pressure. In the 2nd match against Ibrahim Muhd Shakrin from Malaysia, Xiaoli re-enacted his previous match and lost the first and second game. But just as an engine needs time to rev up, Xiaoli soon got into 4th gear and won 3 straight games in a row, (11-6, 11-9, 1-11, 4-11, 5-11). In the evening, Xiaoli played with more ease. He defeated Vetnam's Nguyen Nam Hai with the score of 3-1. Xiaoli will have to play 1 more game against Indonesia's Hussein Muhammad before he qualifies for for the Main Draw tomorrow.  Feng Tian Wei had a much easier time. She breeze through her games, beating Malaysia's Chiu Soo Jin and Indonesia's Ferliana Christine in straight games, as well as Thailand's Muangsuk Anisara. And with 100% victory, Tian Wei emerged top in her group and qualify for tomorrow's Main Draw. Only top 2 per group will qualify for the Main Draw and Champion for the Men's and Women's Singles will qualify for the Beijing Qlympics this year.

李佳薇：海外兵团和我没关系 期待和王楠再打一场
3比0，新加坡队就这么轻松的赢了，中国队决赛的对手也产生了。面对日本队今天排出的怪阵，由福原爱担当三单，新加坡队没有给对手任何机会。只是李佳薇第二场比赛遇到了一点小麻烦，好在她及时调整了状态，在先丢一局的情况下连扳三局取胜，为新加坡队今天的胜利打了良好的基础。
今天赢了很高兴
“有想过他们可能用这样的阵容，但是也没有确定，不过今天进入状态挺慢的，每一场我都是慢热型的”李佳薇赛后向记者表示其实赛前可能想到了日本会排出怪阵，但到了赛场，李佳薇状态还是融入得比较慢。
对于半决赛的胜利，李佳薇也是难掩兴奋：“我觉得今天首先能够在半决赛赢非常高兴赢球之后心情很好，很高兴，好教练是非常重要的”
决赛去拼中国队
对新加坡队来说，打进决赛就是一种胜利，因为她们知道，明天的决赛她们并没有把握去战胜中国队，主教练刘国栋赛后就曾经说过，明天赢中国队的机会是百分之一。那么面对这百分之一的机会，李佳薇由是怎么想呢
“明天希望发挥出水平，进入世乒赛团体赛的决赛这也是第一次，跟中国队比赛，不管我跟哪个球员打都应该抱着拼的心态。因为中国队是世界上最强的，跟她们打不能有任何的思想包袱。这都是刘国栋刘指导给我们带来的，她带领我们创造了很多奇迹。”
新加坡决赛的对手中国队目前可谓是人才济济，无论是老将和新人，都在本届比赛有着出色的发挥，当记者让李佳薇谈谈对于中国队的看法是，她表示：“张怡宁技术全面，目前她还是中国的领军人物。李晓霞郭跃都是新一代的球员，包括郭焱她们，实力也很强。(王楠呢？)感觉还行，其实我跟谁遇到都差不多 ，因为她们在我们眼里都一样，都很强。我觉得我们已经完成任务了，还是要拼她们，跟王楠也一样，尽力打” 虽然曾经在04雅典1/4决赛中4比1赢过王楠，但李佳薇还是不敢小看王楠的实力。
"我也期待和王楠再打一场"
由于进入了决赛，李佳薇赛后的话题也比较多了。“海外兵团限制令我觉得跟我没什么关系，我也不是在这个条规之内的。但是今后具体怎么样也不是我考虑的内容，反正跟我没什么关系。”当记者问她对海外兵团有什么看法时，她却对此表示毫无所谓，毕竟她13岁就去了新加坡队打球，所以这条限令对于她来说根本起不了作用。
“我期待着呢”当记者告之王楠也希望和她再进行一场对决时，她也对记者表示她的想法。因此，我们有理由相信，明天新加坡队能给观众带来一场更精彩的比赛，对李佳薇如此，对中国队也如此，对广大的球迷也如此。

刘国栋：女团决赛打中国胜算仅1% 限制令限制不了啥
2月29日，在第49届世界乒乓球锦标赛团体赛的一场女子团体半决赛中，2号种子新加坡队3比0横扫日本队，杀进决赛，她们将在明天与中国队展开一场争夺考比伦杯的战斗。即使落败，世乒赛团体亚军的成绩对于新加坡队来说也已经是历史性的突破。带领全队一起创造了这次奇迹的新加坡队总教练刘国栋赛后接受了采访。
问：对明天的这场决赛怎么看？
刘国栋：今天这场半决赛我们已经是当成决赛了，因为我觉得我们没法去跟中国队抗衡。
问：评价一下现在中国队的几名队员？
刘国栋：中国五名队员都是世界上最优秀的运动员，跟她们打肯定会出现一边倒的情况，所以中国队还是会拿冠军。
问：明天的比赛您会给队员做什么样的准备？
刘国栋：首先，拿到银牌对于我们来说跟中国队拿到金牌是一样的，我们拿银牌比中国队拿金牌还难得多。因为其实我们跟很多对手都是五五开的球，虽然现在我们的队员状态非常好，但是我们还没有达到那种跟其他队打都能占据上风的程度。这次比赛能够打到现在这种程度，是因为我们的队员在比赛中心态控制得很不错。我觉得今天的比赛中表现最好的应该说是冯天薇，因为前三次交手她都是输给福原爱的，今天她能够赢回来，对她也是一种突破。
问：觉得跟中国打的胜算是多少？
刘国栋：百分之一吧。
问：评价一下这世乒赛老队员的斗志。
刘国栋：来之前，包括李佳薇，王越古她们两个人的状态都不是特别好，冯天薇的状态还是一直不错。在这个比赛里面她们的意志品质还是不错，像李佳薇第一局输了，两个队员都处理非常好。像王越古，她在亚洲杯的时候曾经输过这个队员(石川佳纯)，相对来说我们心态并不占上风。她们把一号主力福原爱放在三号位置上打，她们的这种阵容就是针对着我们的名单去排一样。
问：接下来有什么样的备战计划？
刘国栋：接下来的比赛我们最主要的目标是奥运会，奥运会就拿一块奖牌就好了。越是这样难度越大，每个队都在分析我们，包括日本队今天的排兵布阵也是很有针对性的。
问：海外兵团限制令已经通过了，您对这个事情怎么看？
刘国栋：对乒乓球本身来说是个好事情，但对乒乓球的观赏性来说可能要差一些，实力相差会非常大，你看在世界前八名里面中国选手机会占据一大半，但从观赏性来看没有什么跟中国队抗衡的，以后可能中国拿冠军还会更轻松一些。有这个规则出来了，其实还是限制不了，只是限制了19岁以上的选手，也就是说不让你老队员，但是年轻选手还是照样引进。
问：新加坡队的奥运会目标是什么？
刘国栋：最主要就是女团奖牌，最大的对手非常多，至少有7-8个，女孩的球跟男孩不一样，会感觉特别有信心或者突然一下很无助，你看女队爆冷的可能性很大。
问：这七八个对手中实力最强的是？
刘国栋：中国香港，韩国和日本。韩国这次一号和二号选手都没来，美国、甚至朝鲜都跟我们都差不多，只是我们这次发挥得更好一些，世界排名也在前面，抽签给我们更多的时间以备战后面的比赛。
问：与中国队的决赛，心理上的目标是赢多少局？
刘国栋：比分可能没什么，我觉得只要尽量给观众一场非常精彩的比赛就行了。

新加坡女团3-0灭日本 李佳薇双胜将与中国争冠
北京时间2月29日，第49届世乒赛团体赛进入第六天的争夺，在下午进行的另一场女团半决赛中，新加坡凭借李佳薇、王越古和冯天薇的三场胜利以3-0击败日本队，挺进决赛。决赛中，新加坡队将和中国队一决高下。
本次比赛中，日本男女队都发挥的都非常出色，进入4强也是提前完成了比赛任务。与新加坡一战，日本队在排兵布 阵上是绞尽了脑汁，小将石川佳纯出人意料的顶替了福原爱出任第一单打，志在以奇兵取胜。新加坡的出场阵容则依 然是李佳薇、王越古和冯天薇。
石川佳纯0-3王越古
15岁的小将石川佳纯世界排名只有143位，而她今天面对的是新加坡队世界排名第6位的王越古。一上来，王越古就以 4-0先声夺人，不过，石川佳纯很快就展现出了惊人的潜力，逐渐把比分追平了。在双方战成10比10平后，王越古才 凭借丰富的经验以12-10拿下首局。
第二局，石川佳纯继续紧紧咬住王越古，而直到8比8后，王越古才逐渐拉开了差距，石川佳纯在比赛经验上的欠缺制 约了她在关键时刻的发挥，本局她再以9-11遗憾的丢掉。
两局在手后，王越古才逐渐掌握住了场上的主动，11-4，王越古再胜一局，以总比分3-0帮助新加坡队拿下第一分。
平野早矢香1-3李佳薇
第二场比赛由日本队的平野早矢香挑战新加坡一号单打李佳薇。第一局，平野早矢香一上来就非常积极，拼得很凶， 而李佳薇则在场上迟迟找不到状态，出现了很多无谓失误，被平野早矢香抓住机会以11-6先下一局。丢掉一局后，李 佳薇这才有所警醒，第二局第三局，李佳薇在一度十分危急的情况下还是以11-7和13-11拿下。第四局，李佳薇已经 完全打开了，在5-2领先的情况下李佳薇充分发挥了前三板的威性，再以11-8拿下，这样，新加坡在总比分就已经2-0 领先了。
福原爱0-3冯天薇
在之前与冯天薇的交锋中，福原爱的胜率要大一些，因此今天日本队也是特意安排福原爱来拿分。不过，比赛的过程 却出乎了日本队的意料，从一上来，冯天薇就充分展现出了相持能力好的特点，让福原爱在场上非常被动，很快，冯天薇就以11-8和11-5连下两局。第三局，福原爱只能在比赛中进行最后一博，尽管她一度把双方的比分缩近，但最后冯天薇还是凭借稳定的发挥以11-8击败对手，进军到决赛。

World Team Table Tennis Championships 2008 - Singapore in Harmony as Final Place is Booked in Guangzhou
Singapore hit top form in the early evening of Friday 29th February 2008 to book their place in the final of the Women's Team event at the Evergrande World Team Championships in Guangzhou. At the penultimate stage they rose to the occasion to overcome Japan by three matches to nil.It was a hard fought duel with the Singapore trio of Wang Yue Gu, Li Jia Wei and Feng Tianwei always having the vital edge on their opponents. In a quick-fire contest Wang Yue Gu beat Kasumi Ishikawa, Li Jia Wei inflicted the first defeat of the whole tournament on Sayaka Hirano and Feng Tianwei underlined her consistent improvement with a most professional victory over Ai Fulkuhara. Player selection was the interesting factor for the Japanese Women's Team; six months ago, I'm sure if they had played it would have been different. Haruna Fukuoka would no doubt have been included in the line up; her record against Li Jia Wei prior to the China Mobile Asian Championships in Yangzhou in September 2007 had been exemplary. Li Jia Wei had experienced a host of problems against the close to the table blocking style of Haruna Fukuoka; the long pimples on the backhand upsetting the rhythm of the Singaporean. However, at the China Mobile Asian Championships, Li Jia Wei beat Haruna Fukuoka for the first time in her career and she won easily; since then there has been a total change. It has been Li Jia Wei who has been in command. No place in the Japanese line up for Haruna Fukuoka but there was for fifteen year old Kasumi Ishikawa. She was the surprise choice of Kinji Kondo, the Japanese Women's Team Head Coach, to start proceedings against Singapore. Or was it such a surprise choice? Kasumi Ishikawa is only fifteen years old; well she is only just fifteen years old. She celebrated her birthday on 23rd February the day before the Evergrande World Team Championships started in Guangzhou and she had played Wang Yue Gu previously. The occasion was the Hanoi Television sponsored Asian Cup in Vietnam in November 2007 when Kasumi Ishikawa finished in a highly creditable third place, beating Wang Yue Gu in five games en route to the medal podium.Not OverawedIn Guangzhou, Kasumi Ishikawa was not overawed by the occasion. She matched Wang Yue Gu blow for blow; a variety of high thrown services deep into the backhand of Wang Yue Gu then a fast attack wide to the forehand of her adversary was the chosen tactic time and again. Perhaps she strained that little too hard at the crucial times; she lost the first two games by the very narrowest of margins. In the third, she played with a degree more caution; forehand topspins deep into the backhand of Wang Yue Gu brought success. However, when rallies developed, Wang Yue Gu was in her element and at 8-4 ahead in the third game appeared a few degrees more relaxed; she played more fluently. Kasumi Ishikawa never surrendered but into trying to play strongly on the first attack after the services she made mistakes.It was success for Wang Yue Gu, it was first blood to Singapore. Next into the arena came Sayaka Hirano and Li Jia Wei; fast counterattacking play was the order of matters with the first game going to Japan, the next to Jia Wei. The latter was clearly under instructions to topspin the ball heavily from her backhand into the backhand of Sayaka Hirano to nullify the speed of the returns. Li Jia Wei established a 10-8 lead in third game, Singapore coach Liu Guodong called Time Out. The players returned, Sayaka Hirano won the next three points to lead 11-10 but then Li Jia Wei responded, she won the next three to move one game ahead.SupportA group of Japanese fans with inflated clappers chanted liso Sayaka mo ippon, lizo, lizo Sayaka. She moved into an 8-2 lead, she reduced the arrears to 8-6 as Li Jia Wei became somewhat passive but the mountain was too high to climb. Li Jia Wei won the game 11-8 and Singapore had breathing space. The momentum was now with Singapore; Feng Tianwei was outstanding. World Team Table Tennis Championships 2008 - 9th or 10th Position for Men's Team
In the play off against Russia today, our paddlers crushed Russia 3-1. In their final match, they will face Austria tomorrow, and the winner will be awarded a 9th position. Against Russia, Gao Ning cruised through the opening match against Kuzmin Fedor, winning 3-0 (11-5, 11-6, 11-8). However, Yang Zi had a hard time. He prevailed 3-2 over Paykov Mikhail. Cai Xiao Li however, was unable to maintain the winning thrend. He lost in straight games to Andrianov Sergei. In the 4th match, Gao Ning continued his good form, and won Paykov Mikhail 3-1.

新加坡女队淘汰“黑马”荷兰 刘国栋：准备比较充分
广州今晨专电(记者迟昕欣)平均年龄30岁以上的荷兰队在将韩国队挤出八强后，成为广州世乒赛女团的最大黑马。而昨天，新加坡队凭借小将冯天薇的出色表现，拿下荷兰队的一号主力李佼，大振新加坡队的士气，并最终以3比0力克对手晋级四强。赛后新加坡队主教练刘国栋表示：胜利缘自准备充分。 曾经在中国国家队任教的刘国栋从2006年接受新加坡乒协的邀请，出任新加坡女队的主教练。由于新加坡的队员多为原中国选手，刘国栋把自己熟知的中国式训练也带了过去，双方都非常适应。刘国栋透露，在荷兰队与韩国队的比赛打完后，尽管已经晚上11点多了，但新加坡队仍看了录像，对于比赛准备得非常充分。 在第三场比赛中，荷兰队的李洁脚踝受伤退出了比赛，新加坡队锁定胜局，并且历史上第一次打进了世乒赛的四强。刘国栋表示，胜负关键并不在这一场，冯天薇赢了对方的一号主力后，对手已经不行了。他说：“之前我们考虑到了如果0比1落后甚至0比2落后时应该怎么打。但是荷兰队在与韩国队的比赛体力受损，再加上他们的队员年龄较大，因此新加坡队在本场比赛是占据上风的。都说大赛前应该给队员减压，但是我要给队员加压！因为一个战斗力非常强的队伍需要懂得去打硬仗。” （来源：今晚报）

World Team Table Tennis Championships 2008 - Defeats once again for our Men's Team
It was once again defeat for our Men's Team. However, coming this far is already a great achievement. Early on, Singapore faced Spain and our Men's Team won with a 3-1, with only Cai Xiao Li losing straight games to Carneros Alfredo. Yang Zi and Gao Ning won the 1st and 2nd matches respectively. Yang Zi won 3-0 over Duran Marc, while Gao Ning defeated his opponent both with a margin of 3-1. They are Sanchez Victor in the 2nd game and Duran Marc in the 4th game. However, in the 2nd match of the day, Lady Luck was no longer with them. Our Men's Team lost to Czech by a small margin of 3-2. Things wasn't right from the start of the game. Yang Zi lost 1-3 to Korbel Petr. Despite Gao Ning trying to level the score at 1-1 by defeating Pavelka Tomas with the same margin, Cai Xiao Li lost to Simoncik Josef, resulting Czech to have a 2-1 lead over Singapore. Gao Ning levelled the score once again at 2-2, however, Yang Zi was unable to maintain the good form. He lost Pavelka Tomas 3-2, resulting in a overall defeat for our Men's Team. Singapore will now battle it out with Russia, Denmark, Austria for the 9th position.

World Team Table Tennis Championships - Women's Team Achieve Top 4 Positions
It was a unique game indeed, despite Singapore winning 3-0. Li Jia Wei gave Singapore the perfect start by beating Elena Timina, a player who has endeared herself to the crowd, by falling on the floor, sinking to her knees or performing somersaults at the end of a long point. Li Jia Wei was well aware of the style of play that she may have to face with both Elena Timina and Li Jie being defenders. “I thought I would have to play a backspin player, so before the match I practised against defence”, explained Li Jia Wei. “I was well prepared, I think because I prepared so well, I deserved to win.” It was a tough contest against Elena Timina, it’s always a tough contest against Elena Timina but Li Jia Wei prevailed and she gave Singapore the start that led to victory and of course a semi-final place. A good start for Singapore, Feng Tianwei capitalised on the situation with a five games win over Lia Jiao leaving Wang Yue Gu with the task of completing the job. She did rather more easily than ever anticipated. “I lost the first two games against Li Jiao and then in the third I was down 4-6; it was a real struggle to come back from there”, said Feng Tianwei. “I just tried to play one point at a time, I had to fight myself!” She fought, she recovered and she succeeded. However, it was a sad end to the contest with Wang Yue Gu leading in the opening game 5-3 when Li Jie twisted her ankle. Wang helped Li Jie back to her sit, and both sets of players left the arena quietly. Our female team is now assured of a medal, the colour has to decided.

我国女队昨天在广州举行的世界乒乓球团体锦标赛中，以小组赛五战全胜的佳绩，打进女团复赛，肯定取得优于上届的成绩，而男队在小组赛中，败给香港，首尝败绩。 在最后一轮小组赛中，我国女队虽收起首号女将王越古和冯天薇，没有派出最强阵容应战，但还是以3比0轻取乌克兰。
这是一场实力悬殊的比赛,孙蓓蓓以12比10、10比12、11比5、11比8击败泰佳娜·索罗钦斯卡亚，李佳薇以11比8、12比10、11比8战胜玛加丽塔，于梦雨以11比5、11比6、11比3挫败泰佳娜·特卡乔娃，为新加坡取得压倒性的胜利。
我国女队以B组盟主的身份，直接进入八强之林，肯定取得比上届第九名更好的排名。我国女队的最佳成绩，是在2001年世乒赛获得的联合第五名。 新加坡女队今天将与荷兰争夺半决赛席位，其他的女团复赛对垒形势为中国对罗马尼亚、香港对奥地利，以及日本对匈牙利。
我国国家队教练刘国栋受访时说：“我们对垒荷兰的复赛是一场生死战，但我们必须为可能面对的困难，做好准备。

我国次号男将杨子以8比11、11比9、9比11、11比1、7比11输给唐鹏，但高宁却以8比11、11比4、11比4、11比7击败李静，把比分追成1比1。
由于实力上的差距，新加坡还是输掉了接下来两分。蔡晓黎以7比11、9比11、6比11败给高礼泽，高宁最后以7比11、3比11、11比7、8比11不敌唐鹏。
刘国栋说：“我队整体实力不如香港，所以败下阵来。我们明天必须打胜仗，希望有机会成为小组盟主，直接进入八强。”
我国男队将在今天最后一轮比赛中，力求拿下西班牙，同时祈求香港败给白俄罗斯，才能以小组盟主身份出线，直接进入复赛。

World Team Table Tennis Championships 2008 - Men's Team 1st Defeat!
In men’s action this aftrnoon, 4th seeded Singapore were upset 3-1 5th seeded Hong Kong.
In the first match, it was a point-by-point scrap as Yang Zi and Tang Peng battled it out. After four sets of the match, the score held draw at 2-2. At the crucial moment, Tang Peng proved to be the stronger opponent. He kept his nerve and won 11-7.
Gao Ning had a much easier game as compared to Yang Zi. He got Singapore back on track by defeating Li Ching with a score of 3-1.
Ko Lai Chak however, put Hong Kong 2-1 up by beating Cai Xiaoli in straight sets.
Tang Peng returned, clinching the winning point for Hong Kong in the reverse singles when he beat Gao Ning 3-1 (11-7, 11-3, 7-11, 11-8).

World Team Table Tennis Championships - Bench-Warmers no more
Sun Bei Bei and Yu Meng Yu, having to sit by the side of the game for the past 3 days, was finally given the chance to play. In the last group match against Ukraine, our female paddlers won once again with a 3-0. In the first match against Sorochinskaya Tetyana, Sun Bei Bei crushed her 3-1, assisting Singapore in winning the opening round. Li Jia Wei continued the good form by eliminating Pesotska Margaryta in stright games. Yu Meng Yu, playing the third singles, ousted Tkachova Tetyana out, helping Singapore to secure a 3-0 win! Despite not given the chance to play in the first 4 matches, Bei Bei and Meng Yu seized the chance and performed up to expectation. And with a all win in the group match, and being 1st in the group, Singapore has auto qualified for the top 8 positions. Our female paddlers will most likely meet the Koreans in the Quarter Finals.

我国国家队教练刘国栋受访时说：“由于处于适应的阶段，所以女队球员的前两场表现达不到应有的水平，但现在可以看出她们每人的状态都已好起来了。如今打败了匈牙利，新加坡女队肯定以小组盟主身份出线。明天对乌克兰最后一仗的结果不会对新加坡晋级第二阶段比赛造成任何影响。”

刘国栋对男队的表现感到满意。他说：“虽然高宁在比赛中遇到希腊首号球员伊奥尼斯的顽抗，但新加坡男队的表现确实不错，拿下这次比赛的第三场胜利。伊奥尼斯在失掉第一局后，加快进攻的节奏，让高宁陷入困境，但高宁最终还是顶住对手的猛烈攻势，为新加坡拿下第二分。”
谈到今天对香港的比赛，刘国栋说，只要打败香港，新加坡将以小组正盟身份出线。
在两年前的上届赛会中，新加坡获得女团第九名和男团第28名。新加坡在世乒赛的最佳成绩是女团联合第五名和男团第九名。
另一方面，中国女队在王楠、郭跃和郭焱的压阵下，以3比0轻取同列A组的美国，取得四连胜。中国男队则以3比0击败同是A组的克罗地亚，夺取连续第三场胜利。

World Team TableTennis Championships 2008 - Female Paddlers qualify for Top 8!
Our team made up of Li Jia Wei, Wang Yue Gu and Feng Tian Wei secured a 3-0 win over Hungary. And with 4 wins in 4 games, our paddlers has qualified for the Top 8 knock-out stage. In the opening round, Li Jia Wei defeated Lovas Petra, allowing her to win only 13 points in the whole 3 games. Li won 3-0 (11-7, 11-2, 11-3). Next, Feng Tian Wei defeated their top seed, Pota Georgina by the same margin. Then, Wang Yue Gu took the last match with yet another 3-0 win over Li Bin, 11-1, 11-8, 11-9. And with such beautiful results, our female team has achieved the top place in the Championship Division, Group B. They will have to take on Ukraine tmorrow, before they officially qualify for the 2nd Stage. |

World Team Table Tennis Championships 2008 - Good Form Continues for the Men's Team
Our Men's Team continued their good form today, winning Greece yet another 3-0. In the first match, Yang Zi took on Papageorgiou Konstantinos n straight games, winning 11-3, 11-6, 11-9. Next, Gao Ning took on their Top Seed, Gionis Panagiotis. Despite falling behind in the scores, Gao held his nerves and won with much difficulty. He won 11-5, 10-12, 9-11, 11-8, 11-4. In the 3rd match, Cai Xiao Li took on Riniotis Anastasios and Cai won 3-1. With this score, our Men's Team are leading in the group, with Hong Kong following closely behind.

我国次号男将杨子发挥出色，爆冷击败世界第六号好手萨姆索诺夫，成功带领新加坡男队昨天在中国广州举行的世界乒乓球团体锦标赛上，以3比0轻取D组对手白俄罗斯，取得小组赛二连胜。
新加坡女队也击败台湾和罗马尼亚，在女团B组累积了三场胜利。
我国国家队教练刘国栋受访时说：“我完全没想到男队可以轻松击败白俄罗斯，我们原本只是担心小组几队最后要是都获得相同战绩，可能要计算小分，因此我们很看重每一分。
“不过，萨姆索诺夫对垒左手球员一向都比较差，加上杨子的状态非常好，高宁打得比昨天好，蔡晓黎也有超水平发挥，所以我们以3比0赢了。”
我国首号男将高宁率先出场，他以11比9、11比4、11比9轻取内赫韦多维奇，为新加坡拔下头筹。“左手将军”杨子接着以11比9、11比7、14比16、11比7，拿下两届世界杯冠军萨姆索诺夫。
蔡晓黎最后以11比3、5比11、12比10、6比11、11比6意外险胜水平较高的奇切季尼内，结束了这场对决。
我国女队分别以3比0轻取台湾和罗马尼亚，大大提高了出线的机会。
在对垒台湾的比赛中，小将冯天薇以11比6、11比5、11比6击败黄怡桦，世界排名第八的李佳薇以11比9、8比11、11比9、11比5战胜陆云凤，我国首号女将王越古以11比9、11比7、11比6挫败郑怡静。
世界排名第六的王越古接着以11比9、11比7、12比10拿下罗马尼亚首号选手达妮埃拉，李佳薇以11比8、11比4、11比8击败伊利莎白，冯天薇以11比9、11比8、11比6战胜克里斯蒂娜。
我国男队今天对垒希腊，女队的对手是匈牙利。刘国栋说：“女队明天对垒匈牙利是非常关键的比赛，因为我们这一组应该是我们和匈牙利争盟主。为了在第二阶段避开包括中国在内的其他小组盟主，我们必须抢下盟主之位。”

Singapore Youth Olympics - Local Talents will Represent the State
Singapore Table Tennis Association (STTA) has come up with a new plan in better preparing our young in the Youth Olympics. STTA explained that they will be selecting the promising young paddlers from the currently 20 National Training Team youths. After the selection, these paddlers will undergo intensive training and be sent overseas for competition to gain more exposure. STTA has no intention to use foreign talents such as paddlers from China to participate in the Youth Olympics. There are 3 events, namely the Boys' Singles, Girls' Singles and Mixed Team events. However, Pang Xue Jie will miss his chance of participating in the Youth Olympics as only those aged 14 to 16 are allowed to take part. Each NOC is allowed to send up to 2 participatants, 1 male, 1 female. Currently, the 2 most promising paddlers to be selected are Lim Jie Yan and Li Siyun Isabelle.

限制“海外兵团”提案震动世乒赛场 引起巨大争议
不久前，国际乒联将在本届世乒赛期间讨论限制“海外兵团”的消息传出，不啻在赛场扔了一颗“炸弹”。正忙于赛事的一些官员、教练、运动员，包括“海外兵团”在比赛期间纷纷发出不同的声音，争议颇多。
国际乒联新闻执行官迈德森透露，国际乒联初步的设想是：21周岁以上更改国籍的运动员，将不能参加世锦赛和世界杯赛；21岁以下更改国籍的运动员，则在入籍后等待若干年，方可获得参加上述大赛的资格。
“不可能(通过)，这是犯罪！要是真的通过了，一定要告他们(国际乒联)！” 世乒赛首日，听说此消息，本来很平静的前中国选手吉田海伟情绪变得激动。他说，“‘海外兵团’多不容易啊！国内机会那么少，(出去)还不是为了生计！”只能打俱乐部比赛，对“海外兵团”就意味着死路一条。
据了解，吉田海伟又叫宋海伟，河北正定人，祖籍河北辛集，从小在河北正定学球，曾是中国河北陆通俱乐部队的球员。1997年，15的宋海伟来到日本打球，2004年3月加入日本籍，改名为吉田海伟，目前是日本第三号种子选手、世界排名第51位。
“国内机会太少，一切为了生计。”去年年底的“好运北京”乒乓球测试赛上，现在新加坡的女乒头号选手李佳薇就说过类似的话。
中国乒乓球基础雄厚，高手众多，但能代表中国队打比赛的只有那么几个，远走海外就成了从小打球的孩子们很重要的谋生手段。有人统计，30年时间里，中国乒协所属选手的足迹已遍布全世界，亚洲、欧洲、非洲、北美和南美，且均是所在协会的“一哥”、“一姐”。
6岁开始打球的李佳薇现在是新加坡队的头号女子选手，而留在中国，参加奥运会可能只会是梦想；马琳的老乡、现在代表日本打比赛的韩阳至今连日语都不会说，但在世界排名前三的王皓、王励勤、马琳为谁能直通北京奥运而征战时，他早已稳拿入场券安心备战了。
目前代表美国队打比赛的高军也称该措施短期内对乒乓球的发展并不利，即便她本人并不会受到影响。
高军表示，如果没有“海外兵团”，其他队伍就更难对抗中国队，“怎么打都是中国队赢，打着打着其他国家的球员就不会有兴趣了，这对乒乓球的发展并不好。” 此次参赛的美国队5名女队员中，4人均为“海外兵团”成员。
不过，也有选手对此提议表示支持。白俄罗斯选手萨姆索诺夫说：“一些在中国不算很强的选手到国外去打球，他们的能力比当地人强，这自然会阻碍当地对青少年人才的培养。从乒乓球运动的长远发展看，这肯定是不好的。”
中国女队教练施之皓则认为，“海外兵团”人数增多并不一定是坏事，对中国队也构不成决定性的影响，毕竟最顶尖的高手都在中国队内。
国际乒联前主席、《乒乓世界》杂志社主编徐寅生更愿意把“海外兵团”称作“海外使团”，“他们到别的国家去打球，的确推动了一些协会的发展，有些甚至起到了立竿见影的效果。但这也造成一个弊端，有的协会贪图走这条‘捷径’，忽视了对本国选手的培养”。
“看，到处都是中国人！”国际乒联新闻执行官迈德森说，“国际乒联是该做些什么了。”
据国际乒联官员介绍，目前，要求限制“海外兵团”过度发展的提案已由瑞士等乒乓球协会向国际乒联提出。对此，国际乒联主席沙拉拉持肯定态度。他多次举过的一个例子是，在2007年的女子世界杯上，16名选手中，有13个是中国人，“这使比赛的观赏性大大降低”。
27日国际乒联大会上将就此提案进行表决。国际乒联新闻执行官迈德森持谨慎态度，认为“提案有法律漏洞”。
某圈内人士认为，提案最要命的“漏洞”是剥夺了“海外兵团”工作的权利，一旦实施，官司很多。不过，“就算被通过，对现在打球的海外球员也会网开一面，老人老办法，新人新办法，”该人士说。

新加坡女团3-0横扫罗马尼亚 小组晋级前景光明
搜狐体育讯 北京时间2月25日，第49届世乒赛进入第二天的争夺。在下午结束的女团小组赛中，B组第三轮展开较量，结果新加坡女队以3-0横扫罗马尼亚队，
此前新加坡队以3-1胜波兰，又以3-0击败中国台北。而罗马尼亚则0-3不敌匈牙利，3-2胜中华台北。新加坡队担任第一单打的是王越古，而罗马尼亚则派出杜迪安。王越古打法怪异，右手横拍正手反胶，反手生胶快攻结合弧圈的打法让对手有点摸不着头脑，尽管杜迪安技术也比较全面，但是今天面对王越古还是十分别扭。结果她连续以9-11、7-11、10-12输掉了比赛。
新加坡队第二个出场的是李佳薇，和她对阵的是萨马拉，后者现世界排名第83，远远落后于李佳薇的第8名。而比赛的进程也印证了双方实力上的差距，李佳薇分别以11-8、11-4、11-8连下3城，为新加坡队拿下了第二场胜利。
连续拿下两场比赛，令新加坡队士气大振，出任第三单打的冯天薇没有给对方的希瑞琪任何机会，依然是一个3-0，冯天薇连续以11-9、11-8、11-6拿下比赛，新加坡女队顺利赢得比赛，比一台之隔的中国女队和克罗地亚的比赛结束时间还要早。

Despite having to play two matches today, our female paddlers did not sure a sign of tiredness. The two matches, both fielded Li Jia Wei, Wang Yue Gu and Feng Tian Wei, beat their opponents - Chinese Taipei and Romania in straight games. Against Chinese Taipei, our paddlers took only 2 hours. Feng Tian Wei beat their top seed Huang I-Hwa with a convincing 3-0 win. After which, Li Jia Wei defeated Lu Yun-Feng 3-1, (11-9, 8-11, 11-9, 11-5). Wang Yue Gu eased through her game beating Cheng I-Ching in straight games, securing a 3-0 win against Chinese Taipei. Their next match against the Romanians were just as exciting. In the opening match, World Ranked no. 6, Wang Yue Gu defeated Dodean Daniela in straight. In the 2nd and 3rd match played by Li Jia Wei and Feng Tian Wei respectively, they each beat their opponents with the same margin. And with this win, Singapore has attained a total of 6 points together with Hungary. Our female paddlers will face Hungary in tomorrow's match.

World Team Table Tennis Championships - Men's Singles Results (25/2)
Our Men's Team once again did us proud by sweeping Belarus 3-0. First up, Gao Ning faced Nekhvedovich Vitaly and he defeated him easily with a score of 3-0. In the 2nd match, World Ranked no. 23rd Yang Zi beat Samsonov Vladimir who is currently ranked 6 in the World in 4 games, 11-9, 11-7, 14-16, 11-7. However, Cai Xiao Li faced a little trouble with Chtchetinine Evgueni, Cai won with much difficulty. He won 11-3, 5-11, 12-10, 6-11, 11-6. And with this win, our Men's Team achieve a 4 point lead together with 5th Seeded Hong Kong. Singapore will meet Greece tomorrow at 1630pm.

我国国家男女队昨天在中国广州开打的第49届世界乒乓球团体锦标赛上，双双在第一轮的小组赛中战胜欧洲对手，取得开门红。
新加坡男队以3比1击败D组对手丹麦，女队以同样比分战胜同在B组的波兰。不过，新加坡次号女将李佳薇却意外不敌波兰残疾运动员纳塔利娅，爆出大冷门。
我国首号男将高宁昨天虽状态不佳，但仍独取两分，而首次挑大梁的小将冯天薇也为女队进账两分。
新加坡国家队教练刘国栋受访时说：“高宁和蔡晓黎今天都不在最佳状态。高宁在第四场第五局一度还以7比9落后，要是他输掉了这场，杨子最后一仗对垒丹麦第一号球员梅兹，胜负难料。”
刘国栋也为女队摆出的怪阵作出解释。他说：“李佳薇从来没有被安排在第三号的位置上，我们这样做是为了让排阵更灵活，方便在接下来碰到强队时，能以排阵智取对方。
“我们女队的实力相当平均，轮着打也可以让球员有足够的时间休息，毕竟这次比赛要一连打八九天。”
代表我国男队首先出场的杨子以11比5、11比8、11比4轻取特格韦尔，世界排名第10的高宁接着以14比12、11比8、11比9挫败丹麦首号球员梅兹，为新加坡建立了2比0的优势。
不过，蔡晓黎这时却以三局都是7比11的比数意外败给世界排名比他低272名次的19岁小将斯滕伯格，让丹麦扳回一城。幸好高宁最后以8比11、11比8、11比8、9比11、13比11险胜特格韦尔，助新加坡获得胜利。
我国首号女将王越古以11比7、11比6、7比11、11比9拿下波兰首号球员李倩，毫无大赛经验的冯天薇以11比6、11比9、11比8轻取徐洁，新加坡以2比0领先。
左手执拍的19岁小将纳塔利娅这时以11比7、11比4、6比11、8比11、11比7爆冷挫败世界排名第八的李佳薇，助波兰取得零的突破。纳塔利娅的右手虽有缺陷，但她正常和残疾级别的比赛都参加，而且是2004年残疾奥运会冠军，目前世界排名第182。
冯天薇最后以11比8、11比6、7比11、12比10战胜李倩，结束了比赛。
我国男队将在今天的第二场小组赛中，硬碰由欧洲名将萨姆索诺夫坐镇的白俄罗斯，而女队则与台湾和罗马尼亚过招。
刘国栋坦承，男队面对白俄罗斯时胜算较低。他说：“白俄罗斯有世界排名第六的萨姆索诺夫，我们虽处于下风，但也不是没有机会的。”
不过，萨姆索诺夫昨天意外败北，导致白俄罗斯以2比3败给实力一般的希腊，令人大跌眼镜。

World Team Table Tennis Championships 2008 - Women's Team Results (24/2)
Our female paddlers defeated Poland with a score of 3-1. In the first game, Wang Yue Gu defeated Poland's Li Qian with a score of 3-1. After which, Feng Tian Wei overcame Xu Jie in straight games. She won 11-6, 11-9, 11-8. However, Li Jia Wei faced much difficulty. Throughout the game, Jia Wei was unable to find her form. Natalia Partyka won the first two games against a below par, Li Jia Wei; however, the Singaporean then stepped up a gear and in the third and fourth games played at a level befitting her world ranking. Furthermore, matters seemed to be going her way in the decisive fifth game as she won a fluke point to move into a 7-5 lead; a high lobbed return from Li Jia Wei bounced cruelly at the Poland's side of the table, forcing Natalia Partyka to smile in desperation as she missed the ball. However, the incident did not affect Natalia Partyka. She won the next six points and Poland celebrated. Alas, for the European country it was to be their only win in their Championship Group B Women's match against Singapore. Feng Tianwei ended matters with a four games win over Li Qian.

World Team Table Tennis Championships 2008 - Men's Team Results (24/2)
Gao Ning did Singapore proud by winning 2 matches to help Singapore secure victory over Denmark. In the first match against Tugwell Finn, Yang Zi defeated him with ease with the score of 3-0 (11-5, 11-8, 11-4). Gao Ning faced no problem either. He beat Maze Michael by the same margin (14-12, 11-8, 11-9). However, it was a straight game defeat for Cai Xiao Li. Against Sternberg Kasper, Cai Xiao Li lost with 7-11 in all 3 games. Once again, Gao Ning is fielded but this time, against Tugwell Finn. Gao Ning faced some problems, however he still won by a small margin of 3-2. Singapore will take on Belarus tomorrow at 1300hours.

世乒赛广州开拍在即 中国女乒强敌锁定新加坡
没有人怀疑，强大的中国女团能否连续第九次捧起考比伦杯。从观众到队员再到教练组，本次广州世乒赛的重点都不外乎探究对手情况以及考核队内各人状态。因为相比没有悬念的世乒赛团体比赛，北京奥运会的竞争才是主题。现在，世乒赛尚未挥拍，五朵金花还有待一试身手，但中国女乒的劲敌已然显山露水。
王楠与郭焱，张怡宁与范瑛，李晓霞与饶静文……今天下午，中国女乒在广州世乒赛场馆的副馆进行适应性训练。范瑛代表着韩国、朝鲜女将为主的削球打法，饶静文右手横板快攻结合弧圈则颇似中国香港选手姜华珺和帖雅娜，范、饶二人也正是因为各自的特殊打法曾在去年入选过中国女队单项世乒赛的阵容。惟有站在郭跃对面的是一张生面孔，“这是周芳芳，是一周前刚从广东队调上来的。”施之皓指着那位新人说，找她来就是为了模仿新加坡选手李佳薇的打法。从地方队调来陪练，国乒对李佳薇的重视程度由此可见一斑。
其实，整支新加坡队正是中国女乒卫冕的最大障碍。除李佳薇外，她们还拥有王越古等几位前中国籍选手，球队实力平均且近年来上升势头迅猛，2006年的多哈亚运会和去年亚锦赛上都打进决赛最终位列亚军，给中国队制造了很大的麻烦。多次在重要赛事上击败过王楠和张怡宁的李佳薇更是堪称海外兵团的代表人物。而去年初加入新加坡籍的小将王越古也在一系列大赛中有不俗表现，亚锦赛团体决赛上险些为新加坡队拿下一分，目前的世界排名同在前十行列。第三单打孙蓓蓓则是个关键时刻屡立战功奇兵。可以说，新加坡队是中国队和中国香港队之外，最有望闯入决赛的球队。

Asian Table Tennis Olympic Qualification - Player List
Cai Xiao Li will be Singapore's only representative for the Asian Table Tennis Olympic Qualification Tournament. Throughout the 4 day competition, 7 male and 7 female will be selected to partcipate in the Beijing Olympic. China will be fielding her strongest players - Wang Li Qin in the Men's Singles and Wang Nan in the Women's Singles. Other players to note in the Men's Singles Competition are Hong Kong's Chueng Yuk, Japan's Mizutani Jun and Kishikawa Seiya, South Korea's Yoon Jae Young, Vietnam's Nguyen Nam, and the 3 players from North Korea. In the Female couterpart, Hong Kong's Zhang Rui, North Korea Kim Jong and Kim Mi Yong, Malaysia's Beh Lee Wei, Chinese Taipei's Huang-I-Hwa as well as Ex-China National Team Player, 29 year old, Korea's Dang Ye Seo are strong contenders for the 7 places. 世乒赛之新加坡女队：李佳薇压阵，刘国栋注精髓
北京时间2月24日，第49届世乒赛团体赛将在广州拉开战幕，作为北京奥运会前的最后一次乒乓球世界顶级赛事，各支球队也在厉兵秣马的同时试探着对手，而细数中国女队的几大对手，由刘国栋领衔的新加坡女队格外引人注目，这支队伍不仅云集了多位曾在中国国内效力的优秀选手，更重要的是，平均的实力让球队在去年一系列比赛中的表现都非常突出。
作为新加坡女乒的代表人物，李佳薇目前世界排名第8，扎实的基本功帮助李佳薇在新加坡获得了更广阔的空间，2004年奥运会李佳薇淘汰了中国老将王楠，获得第四名，这也是新加坡运动员在奥运会女单比赛中取得的最好成绩之一。几年间，通过世界杯、亚洲杯上等多项比赛，李佳薇已经成为了新加坡队技术最全面、比赛经验最丰富的头号女单，2007年，她在中国教练刘国栋的点拨下，实力更上一层，在其所参加的50场职业比赛中，李佳薇的胜率达到了70%以上，虽然在与中国选手的对决中，李佳薇胜少负多，但在与其他选手的比赛中，李佳薇的表现还是比较稳定。在去年9月的亚乒赛上，李佳薇率领新加坡队再次打进了决赛，继多哈亚运会创纪录的获得银牌后，新加坡队再次在亚洲乒坛确立起了自己的位置。
2007年初，前国手王越古正式加入新加坡国籍，这也使得新加坡队的整体实力再次得到提升。团体赛中，王越古稳定的状态在很大程度上分担了李佳薇的压力，同时，作为新加坡"海外兵团"队员里来头最大的一个，王越古在去年的表现也是可圈可点，特别是在年底的大王者杯赛中，王越古还在女单比赛中战胜了李佳薇，使得新加坡一姐之争更加激烈。双打方面，王越古与李佳薇的组合也在逐步成熟，在07年的一系列世界职业巡回赛上，王越古与李佳薇也多次有上佳表现。目前，王越古的世界排名是第6位，仅跟在中国选手张怡宁、王楠、郭焱、郭跃后，也是海外乒团中世界排名最高的选手，在拥有了两位世界排名在前10之内的悍将后，新加坡女队也成为了为数不多的敢向中国队挑战的队伍。
除了李佳薇和王越古两位大将，新加坡三号单打的实力也不俗，来自山东的孙蓓蓓曾在06年多哈亚运会上一鸣惊人，在决胜局先输两局的情况下，孙蓓蓓最终扭转战胜朝鲜队，帮助新加坡在亚运会上获得了一枚宝贵的银牌。2007年，孙蓓蓓先后参加了多场国际大赛，临场经验有所提高，世界排名也因此上升到了第14位。
虽然在整体实力上还不足以与中国队抗衡，但抱着冲击态度的新加坡队已经俨然成为了中国队在本次世乒赛以及奥运会上的最大对手。在刘国栋入主之后，新加坡女队在技术上、精神面貌上有了全新的变化，而为了在今年奥运会上有所突破，新加坡对乒乓球女团的关注也是达到了空前的高度，一旦对手在比赛中出现意外，新加坡队很有希望重新改写历史。

World Team Table Tennis Championships 2008 - Tan Paey Fern replaced by Feng Tian Wei
The Singapore Table Tennis Association sent out a new list of players who will be competing in the World Team Table Tennis Championships, replacing World Ranked no. 87, Tan Paey Fern, with the newly Olympic Qualified Feng Tian Wei. The Female's team will now comprise of Li Jia Wei, Wang Yue Gu, Sun Bei Bei, Yu Meng Yu and Feng Tian Wei. The Men's Team remain unchanged, which includes Gao Ning, Yang Zi, Cai Xiao Li, Wong Hong Wei Daniel and Pang Xue Jie.

South East Asia Table Tennis Olympic Qualification 2008 - Feng Tian Wei Qualify for Beijing Olympics!
After a grueling two-day tournament, Singapore Feng Tianwei defeated Thailand's Komwong Nanthana. Despite her strong backhand, Feng had a relatively easy match and took her opponent down easily by 4-1 in the finals. And with this result Feng Tian Wei has qualified for the Olympics and will replace Sun Bei Bei to represent Singapore as the 3rd Women's Singles. However, it was defeat for Cai Xiao Li. He lost to Thailand's Sanguansin Phuchang in a gruelling 7 game encounter. Xiao Li will be playing in the Asian Qualifying Tournament in March to get another chance of representing Singapore in the Olympics.

South East Asia Table Tennis Olympic Qualification 2008 - Xiao Li did Singapore proud
It was a fantastic day for our paddlers at the South East Asia Table Tennis Olympic Qualification 2008. Cai Xiaoli did Singapore proud today. In his first match against Sanguansin Phakpoom, he faced some difficult with the fast attacks from the Thailand player. Xiaoli had problems getting a good rhythm in the game. Also, Xiaoli was also unable to return Phakpoom's powerful bottom-spin serves, all of which contributed to Xiaoli's lost in the first game. Despite that, the atmosphere was filled with cheers from the audiences and shouts of "Jia You" from his fellow teammates. In the following games, Xiaoli played with renewed vigour. One particular long rally saw both players playing conservatively, waiting for the other to make the mistake. It was a game of perserverence and concentration. In the end, Xiaoli prevailed and scored that crucial point to win the game. Not to be deterred, Phakpoom stormed through the 4th game with his trademark quick attacks and bottom-spinned services. Xiaoli triumphed in the final game at (4-11, 13-11, 11-9, 9-11, 11-7) as Phakpoom started to make mistakes in the face of pressure. In the 2nd match against Ibrahim Muhd Shakrin from Malaysia, Xiaoli re-enacted his previous match and lost the first and second game. But just as an engine needs time to rev up, Xiaoli soon got into 4th gear and won 3 straight games in a row, (11-6, 11-9, 1-11, 4-11, 5-11). In the evening, Xiaoli played with more ease. He defeated Vetnam's Nguyen Nam Hai with the score of 3-1. Xiaoli will have to play 1 more game against Indonesia's Hussein Muhammad before he qualifies for for the Main Draw tomorrow. Feng Tian Wei had a much easier time. She breeze through her games, beating Malaysia's Chiu Soo Jin and Indonesia's Ferliana Christine in straight games, as well as Thailand's Muangsuk Anisara. And with 100% victory, Tian Wei emerged top in her group and qualify for tomorrow's Main Draw. Only top 2 per group will qualify for the Main Draw and Champion for the Men's and Women's Singles will qualify for the Beijing Qlympics this year.
