24th SEA Games - Women's Team Finals
Singapore, led by SEA Games veteran Li Jiawei, retained the women's table tennis team title in the 24th SEA Games with an easy 3-0 win over Thai challengers at the Klang Plaza Department Store.

The team saw off the Thai challenge. Wang Yue Gu eased past the speedy Komwong Nanthana 3-1 (11-6, 11-7, 9-11, 11-6) while Jiawei made short work of Muangsuk Anisara 3-0 (11-5, 11-6, 11-8).

Sun Beibei earned the winning point with a 3-1 triumph over Rattana Suttilux (11-7, 11-3, 14-16, 11-6). She had the match sewn up when she won the first two sets easily. But in the third set, she fell back 2-8 and went on to lose 14-16. She came back in the fourth set to win convincingly.

"I am very happy that we have won again," said a glowing Jiawei after the match. "The crowd was noisy and very much against us but we just played our game."
